Yes, really

Saw them perform on the Stephen Nolan Show on BBC NI last night. New members but Les is still great value and Alan classy as ever. They've sold out their shows here in NI which is good to see. Sounded really good! no Eric though and Woody is getting ready to rejoin.

Let's hear your stories as being Roller Fans

I saw them in Sydney in 1976 at the Hordern Pavilion. A group of us went straight from school to a friend's house where we got changed into our tartan gear then got the ferry over to Sydney. We stood on the street outside their hotel screaming at anyone who came to their room window, lol. Then went onto the venue. I was 8 rows from the stage and barely heard a note

Woody's going to be joining them for the reunion tour, Betty - I'm going to see them in Dec with two of my sisters, we are doing the Meet & Greet too - so excited!

Having watched the Stephen Nolan show, I thought Les's voice was pretty grim but I've seen him with the Legendary BCR's a couple of times now and it's a great show, so I think the reunion shows will be fantastic regardless.

No, that was Derek (Alan's brother - the drummer). I think there's a lot more to that story though, as he was given his job back after he finished the community service. His bosses must have been 100% sure he was innocent to have risked doing that, so perhaps he was telling the truth when he said it was someone else's stuff.
Interestingly, in an interview Les said that Tam's "attentions" probably made Derek the way he is - which indicates that Les thinks Derek was guilty.

ETA for anyone not up with the BCR gossip, Tam Paton not only stole all their money, but was a paedophile who raped both Les and Pat McGlynn. IMO it's unlikely that these were the only ones raped, the other guys may not want to go public about it if they too received Tam's unwanted attentions.

I was a grown man by the time the Rollers came along (and not gay !) so I wouldn't have been seen dead liking them.......I was more into The Stones, Bowie, Yes, Floyd etc

But as I've got older I appreciate great pop music more than I used to and I've gone back and revisited the Rollers, Abba, Mud, Rubettes, Sweet........they were all terrific. The early to mid 70s was a golden age for pure pop !

Did you not notice what appeared to be enlarged glands on either side of his face when he was being interviewed?

He always looks like that, it's the usual shape of his face. I was in the front row of a concert last year and noticed it.
