What was the last soap storyline you found truly unmissable?
For me, it would have to be either Kirsty's abuse of Tyrone in Corrie, or killer Cameron in Emmerdale.
Who killed lucy? And Hayley's Right to die storylines were also good at certain parts, but I didn't find them 'unmissable'. |

Whole storyline or reveal?
Reveal, i'd say 'Who Killed Lucy Beale' with the live week, flashback and full live episode Even though i had guessed Jane but there needed to be more to it so she was covering for somebody, who would she cover for except Bobby a few weeks earlier (prob Christmas) i wasn't sire and wanted to see why as much as who. I've been really interested in the gloved Hand Killer in Hollyaosk as well. Again I'd guessed tje culprit weeks ago (for various reasons) but I wasn't sure so wanted the why as much as the who. Who Shot Robert Sugden never engaged me as much, maybe because it hasn't Gome as long and was a bit 'paint by numbers' suspect wise. The 'strangers on a trAin' resolution is quite clever but..... Maybe if it hadn't been spoilt by SoapSqwark, what's on TV, i'd be more impressed. In fact to be fair, although it does rip off a 1940's film, Emmerdale's is probably the most original, logical but surprising of recent 'Whodinnits'. Just a pity it leaked. |

Just realised you said storyline rather than whodunit.
I think it would still be the same though, over the last couple of years. Who Killed Lucy and the Dean's rape of Linda and aftermAth for about 6.months. Before that. Loads of Holby City storylines Twin Peaks - all of it but specifically 'who Killed Laura Palmer' and theb Windom Earle stalking everybody. |

So many from Emmerdale in recent years. I would say Cameron's storyline was especially unmissable.

I think with me it has always tended to be characters that i was interested in rather than plots.
So, I loved Adam Carrington in Dynasty so every storyline he was involved with, I was glued to. Same with Wayne Hamilton in Sons and Daughters. Last time i was really gripped by a Soap was probably Brookside in Autumn 1987 with Billy Corkhill's breakdown, Damon Grant's death and Laura Gordon-Davies' coma falling falling down the stairs. |

The Emmerdale siege was amazing. Hollyoaks Gloved Hand Killer was good too. Eastenders Who Killed Lucy was on and off for me.

Emmerdale - Killer Cameron
Corrie - Carla / Liam / Maria / Tony Eastenders - Nick trying to kill Dot Dallas - Who Shot JR? Home and Away - Rachel / Kim / Kit triangle (among many of the great original storylines the first few years of the show) Neighbours - Everything from the late 80's to mid 90's (the show was on fire at the time) Brookside - Trevor Jordache under the patio American primetime Beverly Hills 90210 - Brenda / Kelly / Dylan triangle Melrose Place - Alison's alcoholism |

Mercedes murder in HO was full of twists and turns. Even though I found it predictable, I did love the SL.

My immediate thought was Cameron in Emmerdale although I did enjoy Tony in Corrie and, just for his name and performance, Jez Quiggly in Corrie. However, Cameron was my first thought so if it was a poll I'd have to vote for him.

Damn, just left this thread and realised Declan Macey hadn't had a mention. That was pretty gripping.

Killer Cameron! I'd been watching Emmerdale on and off for a few years beforehand but I could not miss this storyline. Now it's my favourite soap

Killer Cameron. And not just the siege week but the whole year long storyline from the moment he killed Carl. It was truly gripping and at times very chilling (the Alex and Gennie murders in particular). The siege week was so brilliant because so much tension had built up throughout the whole storyline.

Only drawback to it was Dominic had to leave - He was brilliant in that role. |
