Tony Hadley. Leading up to this series I had this weird dream he was going to be on - along with, for some reason, Marie Helvin and Toyah Wilcox

Here's an idea

Why not just enjoy this series and fret about next year when next year comes?

I'd like to see Toyah do it.

Also, Justin Fletcher, Richard Ayoade, David Mitchell, Victoria Coren-Mitchell, and Susan Calman. OK, so a lot of those are unlikely - but I'd love to see them do the show!

Justin Fletcher I could see. Would have a broad fan base - kids and their parents

A retiring Olympian or two - Greg Rutherford and Christine Ohuruogo
A Soapstar or two - Ryan Thomas and Jacqueline Jossa
A Poptart - Myleene Klass
A Journey - Matthew Hoggard
A Pensioner - Alastair Stewart, Lesley Joseph
A raft of BBC Names - Ore Oduba, Ellie Harrison, Paul Martin, Radzy off of Blue Peter, Sonali Shah, Peter Jones

Voila. Next year is sorted.

I think it's quite likely we'll see our first YouTuber/vlogger on the show next year.

Also a thought - a Bake Off contestant who's now got a book/TV deal?

Comedians aren't an area that Strictly has mined that much so more of them could be interesting.

Dan Howell, Ruby Tandoh, and Rob Beckett fulfil those roles, and would be on my dream Strictly.

As I was channel flicking the other night, I caught an old episode of Birds of a Feather and wondered why she hadn't done it yet. Seems like someone who ought to have been on before now!

Indeed. In the first week of the show the OP was suggesting contestants for next year.

Let's enjoy this year...

Adding an "out of left field" suggestion: Tom Croft, rugby player for Leicester. He's 6'6" (so one for Natalie ) and has some contemporary, modern and street dance experience. So, ringah!

Killjoy!

My vote - Simon Cowell. And he might be available judging by this year's X-Factor ratings.

Simon Cowell and Germaine Greer . Purely for their reaction to critiques .
Other than that I'm generally happy with the usual recipe , some soap stars, an actor or two, a failing boy-bander , a sports person or two and a couple of flat footed clunkers for pointing and laughing purposes .

Edited to add , any entrants with stage school/dance school experience should only be accepted if the experience was no more than two years long . Ballet doesn't count, it's too specific to matter and can even be a hindrance .

Sadly, that will eradicate most if not all of the SCD participants...
