I'll go out on a limb and say I would be beyond surprised if Adele was trying to emulate Taylor Swift in any way.

Taylor has written songs on her own and plays instruments....Adele has done neither...so I reckon Taylor's superior. What I state are facts which carry more weight than opinions.

Just because she has worked with Max, it hardly gives the impression she is heading into a Taylor swift sound. He has worked with artists from all genres.

Adele also writes (and co-writes, just like Taylor) her own songs, and plays the guitar and piano. If you want to state facts that hold weight, they have to hold some level of truth, as well.

Firstly let me correct you she co-wrote I think one song. I think it's doubtful she will go bubblegum itll probavly be similar to the songs he did with Cekine Dion another ballader.

Why is there suddenly this massive weight put on writing songs without a collaborator? Some of the best pop songs by the greatest and most influential artists have been as a result of collaborations.

Max Martin worked with Kelly Clarkson on SUBG and Hazel Eyes - neither of those songs sound like any of the artists mentioned in the first post.

I don't need to say anymore. Max Martin is more than just a one-trick-pony

Adele hasn't written songs on her own? You may want to check that particular 'fact'.

The poster sounds like a Taylor stan and Adele is feasibly the only artist able to take on and outshine her. It's just a way for some to discredit her that's all there is.

Exactly. Look at his Wiki production list.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Ma...on_discography

Sure, some of those late 90s/early 00s acts had a similar sound but further down the list some of those songs couldn't be more different if they tried.

That's quite sad. Why not like one, the other, both or neither for the songs rather than some bitching contest about who sells more etc.? Have to wonder if some of these people actually like music.

Adele wrote Hometown Glory by herself when she was 16. She plays piano and guitar.

Richard & Jagger
Lennon & McCartney
Holland Dozier & Holland
And probably the most prolific of them all
King & Goffin (that's Carole & Jerry by the way)

Adele wrote both these classics on her own.

Extremely poor trolling, but gave me a great laugh nonetheless

This is classic GeordieLady writing at it's finest! That bat crazy logic, the homespun grammar, I'd know you anywhere! This post is a gem. The complete lack of truth, facts or knowledge still don't stop you from steaming ahead.
Since TS is now pop and has a "stable" of writers, this statement just makes me smile. Although you are right to a point. She did write lines like "why you gotta be so mean?'.
Adele plays multiple instruments and writes or co-writes all her music. But you know that already
This new era just keeps getting better.
Max Martin produced one song on 25 right? Adele is listed as co-writer on every song. What's the problem here exactly?

So what if she's trying something different? She's a very rich woman and very successful on her own merits anyway, she can do whatever she likes.

It's not like she doens't know she's a great songwriter alone anyway. What award has she not won already by age 27?

I doubt she's trying to be like anybody else...

And Martin is literally credited on ONE song of the album, and that song has three writers.

Hardly worth a discussion

You've stated the fact Taylor writes songs and plays instruments. And incorrectly stated that Adele does not. Then given the opinion that that makes her better than Adele.

An opinion I disagree with. And even if the facts you had stated were correct, which they are not. I'd still disagree with your opinion.

Never seen Adele sing and play guitar live at the same time. Guess that's too much for her. Taylor has written entire albums on her own.

Because people act like she is the greatest thing to ever happen to music. Many of the greatest songs of all time have been written by one person...who also performs it. Hence where the superiority lies.

Ok she has written a few songs on her first album. I stand corrected. But let's not pretend the songs she wrote on her own are in the league of Rolling in the Deep
