Going off Emmerdale Fast
I think Emmerdale is going downhill fast and am going to stop watching it.
I think the Who Shot Robert reveal was weak and not credible - can't believe Ross and Andy would act how they did. Paddy secret affair - who gives two hoots? Rhona and Paddy are just painful to watch, they are not likeable characters it's easy to care about and if the one night stand is discovered so what/ Worst off is the upcoming dementia storyline - lots of pitiful scenes about a dull and boring ex-vicar - will anyone really notice he's got dementia. But absolute worse the Ashley storyline will mean more scenes for Harriet aka Meddlesome Ratbag - the flashback scenes to the Detective Party were painful. |

In my experience people who say on an internet forum that they're going to stop watching a TV programme always continue to watch it. It's the ones who don't say they're going to stop watching it who do actually do it, quietly and without feeling the need to make an announcement about it.

Your right - I am going to carry on watching so that I can make comments on here about how I don't care about Ashley and the "pain" those around him will feel. in fact I will laugh.

Not me. I said a while ago I was ditching Hollyoaks, and I did. Must've been about four months ago. I don't miss the juvenile nonsense one bit.
You don't deliberately set out to annoy people like this OP and several others who say they're going to stop watching but continue to watch and moan though.

I'd like to quit watching Emmerdale but I know it would be hard to do it. I am getting fed up with Ross/Pete saga. I bet Debbie will forgive Ross for trying to kill Pete, but didn't give Pete a chance.

1. I agree about the Ross thing and why did he drop the gun afterwards because if the cops had have found it, it had Andy's prints on it. Ross is a moron and needs to have a word with himself, he hates Pete more for getting off with Debbie not for covering him in a twig blanket, when he whines on about, his brother knocking seven shades out of him, he was doing the same to Pete, that fight could have gone either way, snivelling, pathetic excuse of a man. Yes Debbie will no doubt get back with him, yet what he has done is far worse than Pete, Ross fell and banged his head, it was a fight that got out of hand, the shooting of Robert was premeditated, it's attempted murder.
2. I disagree with the Paddy and Rhona relationship as I quite like them as a couple, I'm just guessing that all of this one night stand business was written just to shoehorn Nicola Stephenson into the cast, unfortunately all the affairs/dirty secrets have died down now, so they have to create a new one. 3. Ashley's dementia doesn't bother me at all, couldn't care less, however I do like Harriet ![]() So we agree on a few things and disagree on the others |

I' m enjoying the Ashley stuff - although it will be an emotional rollercoaster I'm sure
I like the Chas stalker story too. As for Dross: a) I' m really not convinced he had the brains to think up that plot on his own, so I' m guessing he' s an aficionado of classic thrillers????Wee hint Ross,
Spoiler
b) why does he hate Pete so much??? A severe case of sibling rivalry and your brother possibly being resentful or cruel as a child, because of what happened with your mother does not justify a murder campaign. What exactly is Pete meant to have done? As for his claim to have been hitting the bottle to deal with his guilt - the old adage ' once more, with feeling' springs to kind. I can' t quite decide whether the actor is not so good at delivering those sorts of emotions, or if the character is poor at faking them??? I' ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it' s the character. That said, the actor has been totally over used and that' s going to affect the quality of his performance. It' s like they don' t expect him to stay long, so they' re over using him while they have him, which isn' t good for the character or the actor. What a shame.

I am definitely the opposite to the OP I have become more addicted to Emmerdale lately, epsecially as in my opinion, they have the right balance of drama and comedy.
The three secrets revealed in Thursday's ep are very interesting: 1. Although Andy was ruled out of being the shooter with an alibi, it was brilliant to see how he was involved. Ross shooting Robert was unpredictable and now makes sense as to why Andy went crazy on the motorbikes the other week with Pete nearly drowning. Will Andy really try to kill Pete again? But the gun Ross had in his house was from Home Farm safe, as Lachlan left the door open after he took the jewellery, only for Ross (off screen) to retrieve it. 2. Paddy cheating on Rhona with a one night stand was very unexpected. I thought something would happen to Paddy, (hence the broken glasses) but I didn't expect a one night stand. It may not be a standard reveal with the secret coming out eventually. Is Tess pregnant? Does she have an STI? 3. Ashely having dementia. I like Ashley and will be sad to see John Middleton leave next year. But dementia is a very important illness for some people, and it is good to see Emmerdale raising awareness. |

The question is, who keeps ringing Paddy and if it is her, when did he give her his number? Or did he use her phone? Why is she even ringing? Has she an STI? Is that it? Or does she just want him?

I'm only watching ED at the mo. I haven't been posting here as much since I stopped watching EE and Corrie. I'm sure you've all missed me.

I said on here months ago that I will stop watching EE. I really meant it at the time but what did I do? Carried on watching it of course! It still bores me to tears though, I must be a glutton for punishment!

There are a few story lines I'd stick in the "ridiculous" box at the moment. People paying to be insulted by Eric at the B & B being one of them. And please let there be an end to the eternal Ross/Pete saga soon. The former has to be my most annoying character in soap right now.
I'm looking forward to the Ashley story line though (as long as they do their research and portray the illness accurately), if indeed he does turn out to have dementia. And I have enjoyed the "Who shot Robert?" stuff too - at least up to the point where Ross was shoe horned into it. |

As you'll have more time OP start watching Corrie to fill the gap. You'll soon realise exactly how bad some soaps can be
