Not the "lady" who lives next door to me.
the poor dog is going slowly insane she walks it once in a blue moon
leaves it all day. the poor thing Cries/barks for 5 hrs non stop its driving us insane
I don't blame the poor thing at all. Its her fault she comes home sends it out the back for a few minutes then comes home late and the poor thing barks non stop around 1am

Oh yes and she works for Pets at home... you cant make it up can you?

We've tried having a word saying what's going on when she's not there and that went down like a lead balloon.

Not everyday, particularly in winter.
Ours has slightly bad hips and wasn't looked after well until we recsued her from someone at 18mths. Despite the fact she'll walk all day if that's what you were doing, it's more out of separation anxiety than anything else. Take her for more than 45mins/hour and she just comes home and collapses! She also hates, I mean properly shaking and tail tucked under hates, having baths, showers whilst at the same time loves getting muddy. It's not fair stressing her out in the winter if it's that wet and muddy in the fields near me.
Currently she is probably about as active as she's ever been as she spends a lot of time with my mum's 5mth old Collie. We thought she'd be a good influence on him and put him in his place. Didn't work out like that, she plays with him and winds him up as much as he does to her. They played for about 2hrs non stop (apart from drinks/peeing breaks) on Thursday & she was absolutely done in. Got home, crashed out & stayed put til morning!

Not everyday no.

First she won't go out in the rain , even for a quick pee in the garden. She'll hold it until it stops raining.

She won't walk far with me,on my own. She'll just do a quick 10 min walk round the block with me ,then she wants to go back in.
She is warey of other dogs, I've seen a dog trainer twice about this but nothing works.

My brother who is unemployed walks her mostly and can go for miles with her on the beach. I used to feel bad not giving her walks every day but she really does seem happy just staying in.

I remember walking our childhood dog every day, with extra long all day walks at weekends.

I also remember in her older years, trying to walk her to the local shop. She stopped half way there, and flatly refused to move. I had to ring my mum to pick us up.
Eventually, if you got the lead out she'd plonk on her bum and not move. She was happy with the garden.

We are getting a pup on Saturday and she'll be walked daily as soon as she's old enough. Until then, we'll have her out in the garden and roll a ball about.

My dog won't go out in the rain or the dark.
