Does a Huawei Mifi such as the HUAWEI E5330 come supplied with a power adapter or do you have to plug it into a USB port to power it?

The description I've read on the Huawei website and elsewhere online doesn't mention if it comes with a power adapter.

I'm sure it only comes with a data/charge cable.

Edit

Quick look on Amazon:

Box Contains
1x Huawei E5330
1x 1500 mAh battery
1x USB Charging Cable
1x Quick start guide
So no charger included.

Would the Huawei Mifi be compatible using a Nokia Lumia phone charger?

The Lumia uses a Micro-USB cable, so I think the cable would be compatible, but im not sure about the voltage.

Yes, any microUSB charger would work, (as would any USB charger block and cable).

The voltage won't be an issue as USB is by standard 5V. What you may need to check however is the current requirement of the MiFi device. If the charger is rated at a lower current than the MiFi requires you may have problems powering the MiFi.

However if the current spec of the charger equals or exceeds that of the MiFi then it should be OK

The USB spec should allow devices to negotiate the current downwards to what they require. I use my iPad charger for things which certainly would not like the full 2.1A thrown at them!

Some chargers (e.g. my Kindle) are only 800mA and so whilst they would work to charge a tablet, could take a couple of days

I noticed on Three's website on the HUAWEI E5330 page it says it includes Charger (Std. 3-pin). However, on Amazon in the Q&A section, people say that it doesn't include a mains charger.

So maybe Three have a newer model, but it's the same model number. It sounds like the charger is part of the Mifi package, rather than something Three put in a separate box.

That would only really be necessary if the power supply was a Constant Current device. But it is far more likely to be a Constant Voltage device. In the latter case the voltage is kept constant and the load automatically determines the current drawn with no need for any negotiation.

Yes I use the iPad charger to charge the iPhone a lot of the time. Doing the opposite would mean waiting a LONG time to use the tablet
