It's her job to support the contestants and feed the judges lines that have been agreed by the production team in advance.

And the previous presenter never disagreed with the judges???? He not only used to disagree but gave his own judgement on occasions, even about particular steps in a dance.

Tess has only ever used general terms such as "Well, we all loved it." "The audience loved it." or maybe "I disagree. That was lovely" She has never gone further than a remark intended to encourage the dancers.

One thing that should be noted is that EVERY judge gets to comment on EVERY dance. None of them is missed out because the host has made the job bigger than it should be. Tess has never hogged the screen; she does introductions and general chat. Her role is to keep everything light, the flow going and the show on time. She and Claudia do that brilliantly.

It's a much better now than it used to be.

At least Tess does only hosts and doesn't try telling unfunny so-called "jokes" that have to be explained.

I'd agree about butting in when Craig said he thought Jay's Paso needed a bit more aggression, and I guess Tess was doing that sort of things at other times too, but I think a bit of interaction is only to be expected.

I wouldn't want her to be a female Peter Andre with them.
