I would have been interested to see a full rumba from Louis to see what he would have produced as his rumba fusion and the rumba elements in his showdance looked really promising.

But it's very difficult for male celebs to get right imo.

I agree. It would.

Colin Jackson - if he had performed that routine in any of the recent series he would have got 40.

“Wasn't it worse when he repeated it though?”

Yes, it was but the first time was excellent.

Colin Jackson. No other male celeb's even comes close to that.

I don't like the Rhumba at any price! And the thought of Anton doing one makes my teeth itch just thinking about it!

the matts - dawson and diangelo - both did credible and enjoyable rhumbas,

I was just about to say Chris Hollins AND he did it very early on in the series, week 1 or 2 I think

Colin Jackson for me too.

Flavia choreographed a proper rumba for Matt Di Angelo though and it wasn't at all bad.

For some reason I can remember Bruno calling Chris and Ola sexy little hobbits!

Monkseal just beat me to it on Ben Cohen's rumba. Chris Hollins' facial expressions make me want to scratch my skin off...

The words "good" and "male rumba" make up an oxymoron for me. I always think it looks like a pole dance, with the male celeb as the pole.

Well these are all the males who have scored 30+ for the Rumba - which I reckon is a good benchmark to go by (main series only):

Colin Jackson (series 3, weeks 8 and 10, scored 36 both times)
Darren Gough (series 3, week 8, scored 30)
Gethin Jones (series 5, week 7, scored 31)
Matt di Angelo (series 5, week 9, scored 33)
Tom Chambers (series 6, week 12, scored 34)
Chris Hollins (series 7, weeks 1 and 13, scored 30 and 38 respectively, although week 13 had Darcey as a 5th judge - without her would have scored 31)
Ricky Whittle (series 7, week 2, scored 32)
Matt Baker (series 8, week 7, scored 35)
Harry Judd (series 9, week 10, scored 36)
Ashley Taylor-Dawson (series 11, week 10, scored 35)
Patrick Robinson (series 11, week 11, scored 36 including a 10 from Darcey, which is the first ever 10 for a male Rumba)
*Simon Webbe (series 12, week 3 - technically he scored 30, but it was with Donny as a 5th judge, and without him would have scored 23)
Mark Wright (series 12, week 12, scored 33)

So only 13 (or 12 if you discount Simon, I've only added him in for the sake of pedantry) across the entire 12 series that have been completed thus far.

Ben's is better than I remembered - thanks for that. I think I like it a bit more because the music isn't too slow, so their dancing doesn't have to be as slow as some rumbas are. And it's a very good routine from Kristina as well, I don't mean that as a way of putting it down. Just that I think a lot of people would benefit from a less syrupy song for their rumbas.

Patrick Robinson's was excellent, probably the best one

I’ve watched since Series 8 but I would say that my favorite male Rumbas have been Harry’s, Matt Baker’s, Ashley’s and Mark’s….and I think in that order. I also liked Ricky’s, Ben's and Patrick’s.

I watched a few of the earlier series (5-7) on speed watch so I don’t remember those ones too well. I haven’t seen Colin Jackson’s Rumbas but with all the talk of them here, I definitely want to watch his Rumba.

I don't like the rhumba much... but the one I did enjoy was James Jordan and I think his partner was Zoe something...(can't remember her surname) Louis Smith was also memorable.

It's the only dance I don't like, I truly detest. If they got rid of it I'd be a happy bunny! I'd rather see people doing Agadoo than seeing any rumba, any at all.

But yes, Colin's was good

I'm betting on jay to produce one of the best if not the best rumba this show has ever seen

In the past, I loved Chris Hollins rumba and yes even with the spatula hands.
Ben Cohen rumba which was very endearing and quite good to my surprise.
And last but not least Colin Jackson rumba.
Louis smith wasn't too bad also.

Other than that, the male rumbas have been dreadful for the most part.
