She's only been a judge a short period and now acts likes she knows it all, when she doesn't . She waffles on and on when it's her turn and I can see Len get more and more exasperated waiting for his turn .

Give over the prissy school teacher act Darcey .

She's beautiful and is the contestant's friend.

I don't mind her but she visibly annoyed Len tonight when he disagreed with her about how good Jay's arms were. Even then, she would not let it lie...

She is just putting on a show for the cameras.

Darcy annoys me (and judging by his expression, Len as well) when she comments on ballroom or Latin technique; several times she has been totally wrong and this evening was no exception. She told Carol that "she hadn't made any mistakes...." Wrong! Carol's footwork was dreadful, it was a 'mistake' almost from start to finish.

She shouldn't comment on what she doesn't know.

I usually fast forward her and Len's comments.

I think Darcey shows a genuine interest in the contestants and tries to build their confidence.

She was a dancer without equals in the modern era and is well qualified to pass judgement. I am sure as a total professional she will have more than filled any gaps in her ballroom dancing knowledge by now.

The mix of judges is chosen to be entertaining and that includes being annoying, outspoken, over the top and controversial at times - aka The Entertainment Industry

She's only mldly annoying. I watch KIX on Sky TV and she's nowhere near annoying as Annoying Orange.

See, you've gone wrong on the assumption that Craig scores correctly. He scores differently, that's all.

Remember also that Craig is scripted by the producers as the nasty judge. Tess stands right beside him and makes jokes about how miserable he is. Darcy makes faces when he reveals his scores. I bet the producers encourage her to do it.

She explains very clearly how to improve - she doesn't just move her arms about, she explains how to do it.

Agree new blood is needed the only one I would miss is Craig.

I think people conflate making a mistake with showing poor technique. Carol didn't make a mistake as in she remembered the steps and in the right order, didn't get on the wrong leg etc; Darcy is correct in that. However, that doesn't speak to form or execution of those movements, especially in terms of frame and arm movement for Carol. In early weeks, not 'making a mistake' is sometimes the only compliment available...

You see, that's why I'll never make a good debator. I didn't even know 'conflate' was a real word. I've read every single copy of VIZ and never seen it used once. Am I reading the wrong magazines?

She's a bit of a waste of time because she is so nice to everybody. BUT - I liked the way she wouldn't let Len override her opinion of Jay McGuinness's arms. Even Bruno pointed out how good they were after Len finished speaking. However, disagreeing with Len can be a career shortening move, she might not be invited back next series.


Craig scores 1-10, surely that is correctly. The others score 4-10.

I like Darcy and I thought the comments she made tonight about arm movements and thinking of a breath was a good analogy.

I took that as a comment about not having screwed up the choreography. It seemed to me Darcy was saying that Carole didn't make any mistakes with the routine. She didn't say that the routine was brilliantly done did she?

She has grown on me and in confidence and I like it now when she goes off on one and starts wafting her arms about. Lens faces are funny with both her and Bruno now

What really bugs me is the constant staring after practically every dance . Hasn't her mother taught her it's bad manners to stare .

You've made your point , you don't agree with Craig's marking . Now move on and concentrate on your own marking and stop trying to teach your grannie to suck eggs .

You don't get Craig or Len staring at you for your constant overmarking .

I'd probably be OK with her if she would just stop saying 'the boys'. 'I agree with the boys', 'the boys are right'... drives me up the wall. How can anyone seriously describe Len as a boy??

Although, to be fair, I guess all the male judges behave like toddlers sometimes...

She is the only judge to have the courtesy to just about always clap the contestants as they go off upstairs.

Absolutely not. It takes years to learn, and then some.

I think that its best not to have too much argument between the Judges.
Best to give your point of view and maybe play it up a bit with the others as part of the act the producers want them to put on.

I do think Darcey can recognise good arm work, but I'd also like to hear from Len who he thought had better arms in a Paso than Jay. It seemed to me Jay's arms were very good, but as Bruno said, he needed more of an arc shape with his hips thrust forward more - which would also have made the arms look better.
