Strictly Come Dancing TROUNCES X Factor in Saturday night ratings

Quote:
“The X Factor's live judges' houses failed to impress in the ratings last night with Strictly Come Dancing more than 2 million viewers ahead.”

2011 was the last year I watched X-Factor and nothing would ever make me watch it again.

Same old.....same old. *yawn*

For those who do not want to read the whole article ...

Strictly average of 9.3 million viewers (down 500,000 viewers last weekend)
Peak audience of 10.4 million

X-Factor average audience collapse to just 6.7 million viewers, including those who caught up on +1.

Yes...they have since 2012. No doubt we'll have the usual smuggery and '' overload.

It doesnt matter what Cowell does to try pick up ratings, people hate adverts! Viewers of both shows are most likely to watch SCD live on Sat and XF on catch up next day so they can miss out in ads and ffwd all the contrived judges crap and competitions.

I know I used to do that, but im not a viewer of xf no more

Good, SCD is far more entertaining and less scripted. A lot of people record x factor to whizz past the adverts.

Strictly ratings are not what they used to be either. They have gone down over the years

Same I don't watch it any more but I used to watch XF on catch up.

However it wasn't just the ads, SCD has always been cannot miss, whereas XFactor was Sunday whilst doing housework.

ITV & X Factor should be grateful they've got a +1 or Strictly would have beaten it by 3+ million.

Totally agree.
I gave up on XF a few years ago, too contrived, too many sob stories - no concentration on the singing.
Even recording and watching with finger on the FF button became a chore - in one hour, you'd get less than ten minutes of singing - farcical.

Technically they have gone up slightly this year so far, but on its own highs then yes you are right

They should bring back Louis walsh haha! But seriously the show has had it's day, once upon a time I would have picked x factor over strictly but it bores me rigid now. And lets be honest whoever wins will be dropped by the record label 18 months later.

XF is dead, RIP, it was last its sell by date, now dead, last night a lower number tuned in, then it was loosing viewers from 20.45, so those who hoped it would be good, were disappointed and were leaving.

It's all the phoney angst of the judges that gets me. They use the contestants like pawns in a game.. .. I'll keep you..... no you can go..... sorry I've changed my mind you can come back..... etc. etc. etc. Strictly also annoys me when they are saying who is through. I could fall asleep it takes that long to get the flipping name out.

Totally agree with both these posts. Was a HUGE fan of X-Factor up to the year Leonie Lewis won, it's been all downhill since then. Turned over after Strictly last night but gave up after about 30 minutes, couldn't hear a word being said in the studio over the noise of the rented crowd.

Agree ...but not about Louis Wash, that part Cowell got right.

I don't know anyone who watches X-Factor any more. Even young(ish) people appear to have lost interest. Quite frankly, I'm surprised they still have viewing figuresof 6.7m..that's not bad to be fair, compares well with Eastenders these days for example.

Amazing to think that a show about baking cakes in a tent gets higher ratings that both Strictly and the X Factor

If the BBC really want to trounce ITV they should have a series of Strictly where every celebrity is a former Bake Off contestant

Well, +1 then catch up, then repeats, then Simons ego size, and still three million short of SCD.

Maybe Simon can have XF in a tent? Then it might be intense?

Or

Girls in one with groups, then overs with boys in another tent? Or would they be to tense?
