That way you'd get an accurate leaderboard still with accurate marking, and couples getting the scores they deserve.”

If I understand what you are saying, that would produce very unfair results. If someone in week 3 produced a brilliant dance you are saying that all people performing the same dance in further weeks should be marked in a ratio to that first performance? That would mean that someone who gave the best performance of the night in a later week should be marked down because someone else had done the dance even better on a previous week and another couple dancing less well than them on the night could be marked higher just because no one had danced their dance before. How would that be fair? It would be totally unfair!

Yes I thought that too. She still did a great job but it didn't carry through til the end.

No I'm saying each dance, each week, should get the score it deserved! If Kellie's was as good as Jay's by all means give it the same score and she'd still be at the top of the leaderboard.

The simple maths if you take out any score below 5 (as only Craig uses those paddles) is that each judge on average will need to score on average 24 dances at each point score (5-10) When you look at it like that it's obvious that sometimes dances we consider not as good will get the same score as one we consider amazing, because they do have to ensure everybody is in the correct place on the leaderboard as well as take into account whether they have improved, how they were compared to others that night, how they were compared to another dance of the same type.

Eta: my personal opinion is Kellie was over scored but I don't think it's a huge travesty or conspiracy, I think Jay probably would have got 40 if he'd danced it this week.”

I don't think it's a travesty or conspiracy either, like you I just don't think it was as good as her scores. That's all.

Watching training I thought Kellie and Kevin's Jive would be up there as it looked really good but I was a bit disappointed yesterday. But Jay's and Aliona's is still the best jive and if done later than week 2 it would have got 40. Their jive will still be the best one done this year and will be for a long time.

I really hope Jay and Aliona get to the final because they have to repeat this dance

It's pissing me off that BBC are doing their devious tactics of protecting her as well. To me SCD is becoming more like a game show really.

To me near the end it looked like she was flagging, I would have given a 8.

It wasn't even close to being as good. It wasn't a patch on Jill's and definitely nothing as good as Jay's. Baffling scores. It wasn't clean and crisp either .. but she wasn't called out for it.

I hated it. It reminded me of all those jives I always hate and only stopped hating when I saw the Pulp Fiction jive. It reminded me of those awful dance competitions we had to go to with my step daughter where the louder you stomped, the more forced your rictus grin the more points you got. It had every quality I can't stand in a jive. Manic, forced, OTT......it left me cold.

On the BBC Strictly Facebook page they've put up a vid of Kellie & Kevin dancing their jive and captioned it with something like .. 'giving Jay's a run for its money.' The comments following are hilarious
Basically no-one agrees

I thought her jive every bit as good as jays . Aside from her slightly running out of steam in the last seconds .
You need to take into account the way each jive was presented . Jay got an iconic movie routine moment and music and both he and aliona were dressed aptly , both for jive AND in the mode of the movie scene. Aliona even had the wig to emphasise the pulp fiction aura .
Kellie got a decent enough song , but their outfits were all wrong for jive and I've no clue what their 'story' was about . Content was amazing though and I was out of breath watching .
