Its basic format is a singing show, which it stole wholesale from Pop Idol. Not that I care, but I think the fundamental problem is no-one gives a shit about singing shows anymore.

8million plus are still watching x factor when the official rating comes out though.

I think whoever agreed to the new judges houses format has been fired now”

It was Cheryl's idea wasn't it? Simon said. I haven't got a link now but sure he did say so.

The format last night was appalling. I can't see the point whatsoever of judges houses to then be live in a studio for the outcome Why?
The fist audition , boot camp, six chair challenge, judges house to live show, oh then finally the live shows. Sorry but I'm bored. Two and a half hours and not even 20 mins of actual singing. There was actually more advertising time than singing.

The problem is Mr Cowell believes his own self importance and actually thinks we want to see hours of the judges rather than what the contest is supposed to be about. The show is so heavily edited especially the singing that you can't tell are they singing live or miming or have they done a studio recording to play over the top. What was with all the backing tracks played on top. The list is endless of awful editing and how many times can they humiliate these people by getting them to beg and plead.
I'm actually surprised that they got as many viewers as they did as it was so bad. The best thing ITV could do is drop the show and come up with something new minus Simon and Cheryl.
It will be interesting to see if they manage to get a NO 1 single this year. Also the fact Ben Heanew first single since the winners single has flopped. It must be the worst performing release so far. Let's see if his album fares any better.”

The endless deliberations on X Factor as to which act the judges will choose is all a con, I believe that they are told by the producers which act to choose. Mason Noise would in their book produce good confrontational TV and that's why he was chosen to return. No reason has been given as to why Tom left
Remember Mel B and Louis Walsh being told who to vote off in the previous series
Cowell returned to this show following falling viewing figures when Gary Barlow was there, this year is a good example of what the public think of him”

So far it has'nt come close once, people are fed up with all the bullshit, it comes across as bitter and certainly fixed. Whereas SCD is more genuine and the contestants put in a lot of hard work, X Factor comes across as a lot of desperate wannabes looking for a short cut to fame singing karaoke, at the end of the day there's no substitute for hard work and the reality is anything achieved without the graft is usually not long lasting, Cowell is not the messiah he wants everyone believe and people have seen through all the crap.”

Agree.
