So its looks like ITV was big loser at 8pm. ITV might be making huge profits, but if their audience continues to decline every year, evebtually this will come to bite them on the backside. Putting out crap throughout the year, viewers will not turn up for the better shows.

One good thing though about ITV making huge profits, is that expensive dramas like J&H failing won't hit to them hard enough to put them off. Since they have Beowulf to come, pehaps they'll schedule it more wisely.

Victoria is another big expensive drama. And I suspect as its filming now, with either go out in April, or launch next year September. My guess is the latter.


Corrie is in dire straights. But they don't seem bothered about their longest running show posting huge drops YOY. Let's face it, if Corrie continues to decline at the rate it is now, ITV won't be attracting much audience per-say, as Corrie does support the schedule.

As I've now got NOWTV I can actually watchit. I;m intersted to see how this does. Its been promoted quite a bit, so its a test for ITV Encore whether its a good move, or complete waste of time. Whatever happens ITV should show this drama on the main channel sometime in Summer next year where we otherwise might just have rpt's of dramas in the same week.

And I see YBF has made its comeback. 8pm on Wednesday for 30minutes to lead into IAC. It will probably boost it over 4m, but there must be something better now, we're in November for pity sake.

He was just a name that sprung to mind, it need not be Murdoch. I grant you some of sky's output is not exactly original, but there is the occasion nice surprise on Sky 1. I am not a Murdoch supporter by the way, incase you were wondering.

Technically The Frankenstein Chronicles is ITV Encore's second original commission after Midwinter of the Spirit which was switched to the main channel. But after that performance I doubt The Frankenstein Chronicles will be on ITV anytime soon.

A very sensible post in my view,constantly comparing audiences between BBC1 and ITV is meaningless,ITV know when they schedule say J&H against Strictly what audience it will get,and that is the decision they have made for whatever reason,you can bet it will still make them money.

ITV still have 99% of all shows over 5 million,so advertisers have nowhere else to go to hit a mass market.

He's the biggest signing probably, and Tony Hadley is a good name for an older audience, but he hasn't been 'famous' for a good while- The rest of the line up is pretty poor though- More Channel 5 CBB than prime time ITV on its biggest show

Whatever the calibre of the IAC 'celebrities' it always gets a cracking rating and I think this year will be no different.

But Strictly and I'm A Celebrity have shown, over several series, that a line-up that might look weak on paper can be entertaining once the series starts.

That's just one each from the four main channels. Made by 100% Murdoch owned companies, not just one where he's a shareholder like Sky.

CBB on C5 has always had better line ups than IAC though..

Its much easier to get the lesser known celebs to travel from the UK to Australia than it is for the bigger stars. Despite the amuont of viewers who watch IAC, the difference between being on a dancing show and living in the Jungle for 3 weeks is immense no matter how much you paid.

And like every year, its the characters that make IAC, not the star power. Look at Michael Beurk a big singing, being paid a reported £500,000 and yet he was pretty boring and did little to entertain.

If the characters on IAC are interesting, IAC will do well. Look at Janice Dickinson. Not many in the UK had heard of her, and she turned out to be one of their best singings.

If you don't like IAC then keep watching SCD.

We have this every year, and every year those who say its a crap line up tend to be the ones who don't watch, have never watched it and never will.
