Maybe they will, it's always easy to blame the other side fir being too good, and not look why your so rubbish and viewers switching off.

Agree, you will have to throw a lot of cash at them. It's dead, " if" it's back, it's a poison chalice. Simon will blame Nick for this year. But maybe they should consider something radical, like actually getting younger people who can actually sing to judge it.

With what will ITV replace Jekyll & Hyde at 19:00? It's not apparent yet from their website and the Sky EPG.

IMHO that's the last we see of J&H this side of the year.

That's interesting. Does total viewership for the slot include BBC2, Channel 4 and Channel 5?

Yes, it's calculated by dividing the audience by the share, so it includes all channels.

I dont think this has been officially confirmed by ITV yet.
But I think ITV will replace it with a repeat of a game show e.g The Chase, The Cube
ITV should replace J&H with an ITV News Special. Last nights special rated very well and was the best ITV News bulletin in a long while.

I was thinking Surprise, Surprise, as it used to do well against Strictly on Sundays, but I guess that doesn't repeat well!

I wouldn't be surprised.
Not for one second suggesting ITV are using the Paris events in a cynical way, but it's a handy excuse not to show it, then reschedule it in a much softer slot in the new year. 10:35 post news perhaps?

There's a gunfight in the scheduled episode of Jekyll and Hyde. But with the ratings I doubt ITV are sad that they're moving it for a week.

With weather getting colder next week I think the total TV audience could be up again at the weekend.

ITV are scared to try anything new and just keep shows going even when they are faltering. Tonight you can watch two shows that you could have been watching 11 years ago. Or go into the 10.30- 13.30 slot and go back to 1999 as this is the year Loose Women started and This Morning had already been around for 11 years. I do wonder if a weak XF could harm IAC this year as they must surely be running short of people prepared to appear in this, considering CBB starts a month after it finishes.

My Sky EPG now shows the above. Interesting that they are moving the news into core primetime but consistent with yesterday's decision and justified by the ratings (and more important, editorially). Because of IAC the late news isn't until ten to eleven so it does make sense.
The BBC will have the headstart though - it has its news at 18:00, now extended from 20 minutes to half an hour according to their website. Countryfile is cut back by ten minutes to keep things in line. While the Beatles list show repeat plays out on ITV up to half past six, BBC One will be building a strong early-evening audience.
