The game was planned some time ago. It was initially thought it would be called off but the French FA wanted it to go ahead.

What's on TV magazine are apparently saying Dickensian will begin with a Christmas special. Wouldn't it be interesting if they put it out on Christmas Day?

They could cram out and go:-

15:10 Film: Wreck it Ralph
16:30 BBC News
16:45 Stick Man
17:15 Doctor Who
18:15 Dickensian
18:45 Strictly Come Dancing
20:00 Call The Midwife
21:10 EastEnders
22:10 Still Open All Hours
22:40 Mrs Brown's Boys
23:20 Michael McIntyre's Christmassy Show

ITV could go:-

15:10 ITV News
15:30 The Sound of Music (As Live)
18:00 For The Love of Dogs
19:00 Emmerdale
20:00 Coronation Street
21:00 ITV News
21:10 Downton Abbey

That is pure fantasy and would likely never happen but still would be a bit fun.

While you could argue the comedies start too late on BBC1 (I'd probably agree - and perhaps SOOAH could be moved to another night?) it would be fun to see how the news bulletins did at 3.10pm (ITV), 4.30pm (BBC), 9.00pm (ITV) and 12.20am (BBC).

And stuff. No reason why The Sound of Music can't air 'as live' on Xmas Day in theory?

Having Stick Man into Doctor Who into Dickensian would be strong too.

With Wreck it Ralph being shorter in the above I'd probably get rid of Still Open All Hours and run it to time:

15:10 Film: Wreck it Ralph
16:40 BBC News
17:00 Stick Man
17:30 Doctor Who
18:30 Dickensian
19:00 Strictly Come Dancing
20:15 Call The Midwife
21:25 EastEnders
22:25 Mrs Brown's Boys
23:00 Michael McIntyre's Christmassy Show

ITV the same.

Thanks so much all you guys on here for the ratings. Though I might not always say thanks, I do appreciate it every day, no matter how badly ITV do.

Since Tipping Point and The Chase are doing so well despite the flop at 3pm, I hope ITV keep them there for the foreeesable. Tipping Point in particular doing 2.15m is excellent. Especially matching typical BBC1 favourite Flog It!.

Re ITV News at 10pm. When the football finishes, viewers just turn over, often when ITV news is pushed back past 10pm.

I notice ITV News at 10.50pm on Sunday got a superb 30% share.

I think Dickensian, with it being so many episodes, could start with a stripped run over Christmas, and then follow on with a weekly format.

Perhaps with a special on Christmas Eve and then return on the couple of days between CD and NYD. This would then would then give it a run of about 12 Sunday evenings straight starting on the 3rd January 2016.

Call The Midwife and Dickensian could dominate Sundays for the beginning of the year, along with the return of Silent Witness on Wed/Thur for 5 weeks from 27/1/16, and the final series of The Voice on Saturdays.

It was announced before the lunchtime episode today. It's great news, there's absolutely no reason in this day and age why we need to have a gap between UK and Australian broadcasts.

Wonder how Apprentice and I'm A Celeb will dent each other tonight. I personally will be watching Apprentice live and the first part of I'm a Celeb on +1 before bed.

Isn't there a slot free in between part 1 and 2 of the Strictly finale also? The stripped Oliver Twist they did a few years ago finished in between a Strictly finale sandwich iirc.

That is a very good point. That would certainly raise the profile for the launch of the new series and pull in the viewers.

7.00: I'm A Celebrity (Monday's episode - ITV Player)
8.00: Cuffs (BBC One)
9.00: The Apprentice (BBC One)

Really good night of tv, with I'm A Celebrity and Masterchef also on tonight. I'll probably catch up on those two tomorrow.

It only arose because of Tom Bradby bragging in The Sunday Times about how he was going to change NAT and spinning one programme (which was in the middle of Skyfall) to claim he had personally increased the audience by half a million. It has plodded along for years now with about 1.5 million, it's known at ITN as News at Tom.”

You've got to be kidding, its one of the things you post about the most

One thing's for sure - loads of great TV to choose from in the 9pm hour. I think the IAC/Apprentice clash is one of the cruellest clashes for the viewers ever!

Silent Witness did so well on Mon/Tue though - I think they would be mad to move it.

It was me who asked that question. I really don't care about ITV News and how it rates and I suspect not many people are that bothered either.

Well said. We are fortunate with the members on this forum who posts the ratings and shares, which is nice as we don't have to rely on DS. Thank you.

It's got a pretty hardcore following, the main two showings are watched by around 1.6 million a day. I know of a few who watch it online the day it airs in Australia.

That's got to be one of the funniest things I've ever read on this thread. You do realise we can see whose username writes posts, and have memories?

EDIT - I see you didn't use the quote function when quoting lewiep93's post so it looks like you said that. Still, made me hoot!
