That's got to be one of the funniest things I've ever read on this thread. You do realise we can see whose username writes posts, and have memories?

EDIT - I see you didn't use the quote function when quoting lewiep93's post so it looks like you said that. Still, made me hoot!
HEH. Again yes that was me who asked that question

Yeah hats off to ITV they did really well and produced pre match coverage to be proud off.
Yes (although it's a bit sad that a channel not showing adverts in the two minutes between the anthems and the kick-off is now news), although it is a fact I think that sports coverage on all channels is really good. Everyone at BBC Sport, ITV Sport, Sky Sports and BT Sport are clearly totally committed to high standards and take it all seriously. You can see that whenever there's a tragedy in sport, like when Fabrice Muamba collapsed, all the sports programmes covered it wonderfully well and with absolute sensitivity, it was the news programmes that were crass and sensationalist. Sports programmes are almost always brilliantly made, on all channels.

Why do people keep pushing this idea that ITV News at 10 (10:15 actually) should be rating well with football as a lead in . It's one of the worst lead ins they could have with the majority of viewers switching off as soon as the match finishes. Plus with a later start time people will always go to BBC One at 10pm.
My point is that it never used to happen until ITV mucked about with News At Ten. The brand was so strong that people stayed on the channel to watch. It happens on BBC1 when the 10 is delayed for sport.

There is an audience that seeks out News At Ten on BBC1 regardless. ITV's News At Ten had that loyalty in the past.
I would agree with the latter, and for the former, that may be the point in usual circumstances but last night the football WAS the news, really, it was all over the headlines. It wasn't a normal football match and the stuff surrounding the match was as important as what went on in the ninety minutes, that's why it was on the front pages today as well as the back pages. So the post-match analysis was of interest.

And if it does rate so badly, why does ITV bother doing so much of it? Ten years ago they used to finish the Champions League coverage at 9.45 after a 7.45 kick-off. I know there were fewer adverts in those days but there still wasn't much post-match business. They've got a highlights show straight after the news they can use for more in-depth discussion. They're a mainstream channel and if nobody wants to watch extensive post-match discussion in primetime, don't do it.

Actually the ITV highlights shows have always seemed bizarre, given they have probably the longest highlights edits on telly, much longer than on Match of the Day, even though they were shown live about an hour before. The audience that needs to see some in-depth highlights is absolutely tiny. They should cut the actual highlights right down and spend more time on extended punditry. Only big football anoraks are watching, cater to them.

Isn't there a slot free in between part 1 and 2 of the Strictly finale also? The stripped Oliver Twist they did a few years ago finished in between a Strictly finale sandwich iirc.
They did, in 2007. Actually it would be interesting to see what fills Saturday night on 12th and 19th December post-Strictly as Doctor Who will have finished the week before. Though given it's the X Factor final on the former, it'll probably be In It To Win It.

Even though it's only by 0.1m, that is really quite depressing.

More BBC cuts announced today
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-34851369

Red Button to be axed
Sports rights budget to be slashed putting F1 at risk
Cuts to comedy budget
Cuts to BBC News budget

Drama budget ring fenced
If the BBC loses the F1 it will be interesting to see who picks it up it could either be ITV,CH4 or CH5.

ITV have a lack of sport due to losing the champions league so could be interested in getting the F1 back.

I doubt Channel 4 will get it but they were interested before BBC made the deal with Sky.

Also Channel 5 could be interested now they have more money behind them

BBC2 [overnights] last night...

Match of the Day Live: Salford City v Notts County: 2.49m (12.3% share)
BARB we 8 November 2015

BBC2

MOTD Live 2.41m
This ran almost exactly to time, so we can safely deduce that approximately 80,000 on average were watching the rugby union and Mastermind in Wales in that period.

Think you have covered yourself there with those 3 channels 😄

I read elsewhere that losing the golf and sharing the 6 nations, most of that has been saved already.

However, I suspect F1 will go when the contract ends unless Bernie lets them have it on the cheap

Well I think Bernie may let the contract be cheaper as I dont think putting the F1 on subscription channels has worked that well for them in other territories. I think it has been successful in UK with half the races on fta tv

The reality clash hurt C4's Grand Designs (1.23m/5.3%) and C5's Can't Pay We'll Take it Away (0.93m/4.0%).

After the main shows, You're Fired brought 1.42m (7.1%) to BBC2, whilst I'm a Celeb Now! continued with 0.44m (3.7%) for ITV2.

I agree Dan.

Considering how well I'm A Celebrity does and how much of a hit The Apprentice usually takes, that's a good figure Apprentice figure.

Does the forum look strange for anyone else? Like really basic? I can't even see the quote boxes anymore. Something else to do my head in about new DS, there's a new problem every day.

Unfortunately there have been problems since the "Beta" site launched.

It'll be back soon - hold in there. In the mean time, I created a theme for Stylish (an extension to Firefox, Chrome or Safari) which improves the Forum: https://userstyles.org/styles/120677...rums-blue-flat

It may help you as at the moment the forums including quotes are displaying - the only thing not showing is the top menu bar! (Not complaining)

Not a huge difference, don't see why Cuffs can't be recommissioned.
