Thanks for those cylon.

Ratios (BBC : ITV):
6-7am - 2.6 : 1
7-8.30am - 2.3 : 1
----------
8.30-9.15am - 2.3 :1

So it's closer (proportionally) between 7 and 8.30am, but not very much closer. I would suggest that a lot of ABC1s will be watching in the 6am hour rather than later, which could explain the above pattern.

Alex Polizzi's Italian Islands started with 0.75m (3.4%) for C5 last night. More than what her other travelogue got on Fridays, but not great. I guess the demos are probably OK for them to have ordered more.

Yet another paid holiday for Alex - I can perfectly understand why it didn't attract many people.

In its current state EastEnders is damned if it stays put, and only slightly less damned if it moves later. I wonder what O'Grady got.

The share is similar to that of a clash episode, which shows the core audience that stick with it all the time, and possibly do not watch ED

I guess it is nice to see ITV giving viewers a spot of variety there on a Thursday evening .......... oh wait

Makes you wonder how EastEnders will do when moved around over Christmas and with some tough competition. People preferring to watch later than on the day doesn't help the schedule.

Coronation Street can get a decent audience when it is shown out of slot and EastEnders can't.

EastEnders is in the state it's in due to what has been put on screen. Why don't people want to watch on the day instead of catching up later? Why does it lose so many viewers opposite factual programming?

The storytelling is becoming like Hollyoaks with regular 'shock twists' and retcons.

Channel 5 are doing a programme about a T Rex on Monday night, Hope it will get over a million viewers at least because that awful IAC is still on.

Well if its anything like ITV's series (sub 2m) Dinosaur Britain, it won't get anywhere near 1m even without IAC as competition.

But I'm sure IAC being on won't stop you watching it.

Coronation Street has the advantage of an older audience. Much like AR and Countryfile, if the BBC moves it the audience follows. Older skewing programmes hold up better than the younger. Look at TXF and EE compre with SCD.

But this why on Boxing Day I think ITV should place Paul O' Grady For The Love of Dogs derectly opposite EE where it can get a good alternative audience. Since EE is proberly the BBC's weakest show this Xmas, ITV need to utiluse their evening schedule.

5pm Surprise Susprise
6pm Peter & Wendy
8pm Paul O' Grady For The Love of Dogs (opposite EE)
9pm Benidorm
