I can't see it being a big hit tbh.

I notice ITV have schedule the next series of Catchphrase at 6.15pm on Saturday. They'd have been better placing this before J&H and giving it a better lead in that the news.”

Is it a new series ?

I really like catchphrase itv don't seem to care much about it though and put it in slots were it does poorly the last series didn't rate too well so this is probably make or break.

That River rating must be one of the lowest for a new Drama, and three more to go.

Good to see SCD and XF not clashing at all from November 7th.

Good rating for Catastrophe but it was promoted like hell so surely it should've got over 1m?

Interesting set of figures for the soaps, they are all pretty close. Perhaps I won't slit my wrists over the EastEnders ratings after all. Good job I take what is said on here with a pinch of salt. Some posters on here are like a Tory cabinet minister.

Strong night for C5 last night.

The Dog Rescuers Puppy Special moved 1.42m (7.2%) at 8pm, easily trumping the 0.94m (4.7%) managed by C4's Three Day Nanny in the same slot.

Then at 9pm, Eamonn and Ruth's How the Other Half Lives became the latest talent led factual hit for the channel, pulling in 1.38m (6.6%).

Both exclude +1.

Yes that was a good night for 5, when you consider what itv got at 8.pm last night, there wasn't much between them.

And it's interesting that talent led factual is rating so strongly for C5, but mostly poorly for ITV.

Must be weak programme ideas.

Surely it's more the differing benchmarks? For instance whilst Eamonn and Ruth got a great rating for C5 I can't imagine it would have got all that many more on ITV. Factual is easier for C4 and C5 to get right than for ITV as factual audiences tend to be more willing to watch shows on different channels and those networks have lower benchmarks. I doubt Eamonn and Ruth would have done the 3m or so needed to be considered OK on ITV.

Although I agree they've had some very weak programme ideas at ITV. No doubt about it. There is an audience there for the taking but they have struggled to hit the mark.

Channel 5 getting some good figures with their factual. The Yorkshire Vet is another one that has done well. Something I really enjoy watching on the channel. Not keen on the ones with crazy names. I always avoid those shock docs on Channel 4 as well.

It seems they are fighting it out for second spot at present in the over nights.

ED now overtakes EE whenever it has a big storyline and promotion from ITV. With EE Halloween episode coming up it will pull away again now though.

6.04m seems low for EastEnders on a Tuesday. October and soaps aren't posting great ratings in general.
