I do agree with you they need new shows and a real look at their scheduling, but there are facts that get in the way of your opinion. "I don't watch it so nobody else watches it either" perhaps? ”

X Factor down to 6 Million, Downton is ending and soaps are down too.

There's no denying that ITV have had some good shows this year, there just hasn't been anywhere near enough. I've much preferred BBC this year, but I've been hooked to shows like Broadchurch and Unforgotten on ITV.

For 2016, ITV definitely need to increase the quality of their shows. Although there are several good shows, there just seems to be so much rubbish on the channel. Also seems to be a dark feel to so many of ITV's show, whereas BBC's are often bright and modern.

I've said what I've had to say about ITV - they are far from perfect, they need new shows, a long hard look at their schedules and yes, as you allude to in your post shows that have declined and replacements required - what I don't accept is your anti ITV statement of "they are a broadcaster no one wants to watch at the moment" - by your reckoning 6 million, 9 million consolidated, 3 million, 4 million etc... etc... whatever the show and audience (decreased or increased) you want to point out - in your book that figure will always amount to "no one" based on a) your dislike of the channel and/or b) your dislike of the specific programme.

When ITVs audience drops to zero then you can say that "no one wants to watch" - otherwise it's nothing more than an inaccurate swipe at a channel you clearly dislike!

One show that is schedule well could be in for a secon series rise is that of Home Fires. Averaging 6.8m inc+1, its go the ground work to build on. This would be perfect to launch in February at 9pm.

No it wouldn't - because 6.8 million Home Fires viewers are/would be watching a programme shown by a "broadcaster that no one wants to watch at the moment".

The Jonathan Ross Show
Surprise Surpise

I don't understand why all of these get Chridtmas editions despite their low ratings, but Takeaway doesn't?? Its a no branier to get Ant & Dec involved over the Christmas period. All of the above just turn viewers over to BBC1.”

All Star Mr & Mrs was filmed on the hottest day of the year. Takeaway needs to be live and preferably Boxing Day and NYD.

I can see Home Fires out rating the The X Factor soon.

Those few weeks of Celeb must be tough for Channel 4 and Channel 5, in terms of ITV squeezing the channels' ad revenues.

It did not have much competition as I remember though so I am not so sure.

I wonder if C4 & C5 could complain about ITV damaging their revenues by showing too popular programmes?

On BBC One, The C Word; the TV Baftas; Strange & Norrell x 4.

Yes, quite benign opposition.

Radio Times has a very strong positive preview of this weekends Doctor Who.

http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-...story-in-years

The Zygon Invasion is Doctor Who's best - and most political - story in years
The two-parter is "unlike anything Doctor Who has done before", says Stephen Kelly, and features "Peter Capaldi's greatest performance as the Doctor so far"

It then covers the plot then says...

Oh, and speaking of killer scenes, there's one near the end of the second instalment in this two-part story, The Zygon Inversion – which I can't say much about now – that is up there with the greats. Over and over I have played it, marvelling every time at how raw and bold it is. Without a shadow of a doubt, it is Peter Capaldi's greatest performance as the Doctor so far. His Doctor Moment, if you will - the one he so very much needed. (For obvious reasons, there's no point talking about other cast members at this stage.)
A lot has been said about Doctor Who recently. About its ratings, about Peter Capaldi, about whether it's still the same show that fans fell in love with. That's just Doctor Who fans for you. It's mostly balls, of course, but not totally.
There's some legitimate criticism, for example, of plots not making sense, of the show – in general – now being alienating to that most mysterious species, the 'casual viewer'. All healthy, valid stuff that should not stop being talked about. But for the next two weeks, at least, let's give it a rest. Let's rejoice at just how incredible Doctor Who can be; how nine series in, it can still deliver one of its best – and most important – ever stories.

I'm looking forward to this one after last weeks dud. I love the Zygons and we didn't get to see much of them in the anniversary ep.

Not quite the new Broadchurch. And another BBC factual series around football gets another decent rating.

Celeb Juice was actually the best ep all series last night. It was hilarious. Perhaps they should, for next series have themed episodes because they always seem to work best.

I assume that is exc+1? If so, sjould mean a figure of 1m+.
