Didn't realise final score had that many viewers, quite impressed. Anyone know how much Soccer Saturday gets? Far superior to final score.

9 out of 10 Saturday nights i'll be out of the house. The only thing I watch on Saturday is MOTD. Any dramas shown on Saturday or pre 8 o clock I automatically think it's family friendly drivel so give it a wide berth. I do think there's scope for a drama to be shown at 10PM on Saturday night on ITV, if it's gritty it will work.

Has this been posted?

Cowell and RT writer both calling for ratings system change:

"The way we watch TV has changed - so should "meaningless" ratings, says Simon Cowell

Now the X Factor boss thinks overnight ratings – a snapshot of how many viewers watched what the previous day – should be abolished or replaced.

Cowell is not the first to realise that the way people watch has changed, with catch up TV, +1 channels and shows available on-demand and online: “We are adding two or three million on the week’s figures which is taking us up to nine-and-a-half which in this day and age is a miracle.”

Speaking at the Judges' Houses stage of X Factor, Cowell went on to brand overnight ratings as “meaningless” and said he felt the way they are calculated, using the results of 5,000 homes from company BARB, is now out of date.

I think Cowell has a point. I mean, we are basing the viewing habits of millions and millions of people on a sample of just 5,000. There must be a better way we can get an instant snapshot in this day and age?

Wouldn't it be great to have a better idea of who watched what?

And if it is possible to get more detailed results it will help advertisers and also help shows sell ad slots in the future.

Cowell says he has changed the way he looks at ratings, and now pays more attention to the results that come seven days later – the “consolidated” numbers, which include people watching on catch-up TV and from set-top box recordings after the day of broadcast.

Cowell said: “With all the brilliant ways to watch and catch up with TV shows and series these days on all manner of devices, lets hope the way we find out ratings can be brought up to date soon too."

Yes, by me, page before.
I apologise profusely.

In other news, at least it's dark for J&H. Might that help? Alas I doubt it. I think it will get 3.0m inc+1. It stands a fair chance of a decent timeshift, if it's good enough to get people talking and positive word of mouth/reviews etc.

Some consolidated numbers for Doctor Who over the years.

Lowest rated Doctor Who episodes
Code:
01. 03 Oct 2015 - 5.63 million
02. 26 Sep 2015 - 5.71 million
03. 10 Oct 2015 - 6.05 million
04. 10 Jun 2006 - 6.08 million
05. 31 May 2008 - 6.27 million
06. 03 Jun 2006 - 6.32 million
07. 12 Jun 2010 - 6.44 million
08. 04 May 2013 - 6.47 million
09. 22 May 2010 - 6.49 million
10. 27 Apr 2013 - 6.50 million
11. 03 May 2008 - 6.53 million
12. 19 Sep 2015 - 6.54 million
13. 20 Apr 2013 - 6.61 million
14. 09 Jun 2007 - 6.62 million
15. 11 May 2013 - 6.64 million
It will come as no surprise that all of this year's episodes make an appearance. What might be more surprising is that none of last year's series appears, this is despite featuring the same team in front and behind the camera and being broadcast at the same time of the year.

Number of episodes in the bottom 15.
2005 - 0
2006 - 2
2007 - 1
2008 - 2
2009 - specials only
2010 - 2
2011 - 0
2012 - 0
2013 - 4
2014 - 0
2015 - 4
I'm confused. What is this list for? Something very obvious about this series of Doctor Who so far. No episode has reached 7m in consolidated ratings.

Jekyll and Hyde is going dowwwnnn.
Well if it does, I hope you enjoy the whole wave of crap LE shows you will get and seem to prefer over good drama.

You must have very little do other than wind people up on here. Try making some postive comments for a change. Its boring.

God you need to get out more. How anyone can take pleasure in a TV show doing badly?

Try pilates.

It looks like the 15 lowest-rating Doctor Who episodes of the 'nu' era. I got that from the title, in bold, saying "Lowest rating Doctor Who episodes".

Did you miss my positive comment about BBC1's ratings today then, right here in this thread?

You're the one that's been bigging up Jekyll like it's the best thing since sliced bread, without even seeing it, yet you will be the first to moan and complain when the ratings come in.

Well I'm at my parents house and they are watching Jekyll & Hyde. Normally it's straight over to BBC One for the night after the football on Sky. They never miss Countryfile. The advertising has been everywhere. I think people will be curious about the first episode.

It starred pretty well to be fair, much more polished than DW and clearly ITV have spent a bit on it so I hope it does well for them- no reason it can't do circa 4m

You do deliberately wind people up here. It's clearly for attention.

The percentage of those watching that don't have Sky Sports must be very high, because there's no way you'd choose the BBC version otherwise, surely?

Mohammed is not in the same league as Stelling and often struggles to cope with the demands of the fast-moving broadcast. The pundits vary but hardly any of them are worth listening to. And the match reporters tend to be incredibly irritating as well, often having no clue at all what they're talking about. One moment that stands out was Ivan Gaskell suggesting Harry Kane might be a one season wonder just three games into the new PL season.

But, at the end of the day, it is free. And it's reasonably quick with the match news, so it's better than nothing. Certainly not a patch on Soccer Saturday though and I wouldn't watch it at all if SS was on Freeview.

I'm surprised Soccer Saturday is still that healthy after it being moved behind a paywall those few years back. Still the best results service on TV, and Jeff in second to none. Although Final Score is not too bad eithet, just a little rusty.

Mixed reviews on Twitter. Some loving it, some not sold on the dialogue.

Every other tweet though is about the timeslot. ITV could live to regret pitching it where they have. It's clearly not a Sunday 6:30 show, in any way shape or form.

A drama like this outside of their usual comfort zone needs absolutely everything going for it to have any chance of posting strong overnights in the long term. So putting it on so early when it doesn't tick the family friendly box is a huge risk.

Yeah, it's not really a kid's show, but I think that works in its favour as it comes across very well- Far better in an 8pm slot though

Do feel that ITV should put The X Factor on at 18:30 than Jekyll and Hyde at 20:00, I feel that would better as people look for something to watch after Strictly Come Dancing and we know they are not watching silly factor these days.

Twitter seems to have morphed into the Mary Whitehouse forum. I'm not watching yet so don't know if it's justified or not but it's quite amusing nonetheless.

Feedback seems decent so far but I'm not convinced it'll get a huge audience.

To be fair it's not just him. Half of this thread wants EastEnders to fail while others were gloating at SCD's reduced figures during clashes with high-rating rugby, hoping that they were unrelated to the clash and instead that the programme is in decline.

Jekyll & Hyde has shades of Jonathan Strange about it. ITV will be hoping that it doesn't follow its rating trajectory. With an established brand like Doctor Who hitting 4.4m, I expect J&H to be under that as it also faces tough competition from the BBC. The Palladium and Surprise Surprise have shown that their is an audience (probably younger) looking for an alternative to the older skewing Beeb. It will pick up some curious viewers tonight so it should launch well.

The X Factor has lost many viewers since the heights of 2010 but 6.35m (exc.+1) is still higher than most shows. Only Strictly, Corrie and Downton will cross 7m this week and I expect X Factor to be back above 7m tonight, it has been rising steadily there over the past few weeks. ITV have nothing to replace it with and it's still pulling in decent figures by today's standards. When it hit that 5.94m on the first weekend, it looked like it was heading for DOI crisis levels. Halloween didn't affect it last year, its figures were in line with the previous week. It's got a lower audience now but they're also more loyal. It's Voice UK like figures are nothing to be ashamed about.

And Sherlock on NYD. How predictably boring by the BBC. It wouldn't hurt them to mix it up a bit.

EastEnders have a great Halloween trailer and I have only seen it aired once. (following Friday's episode) It would be a good idea to air it before/after Strictly, their highest rated show, so they probably won't nor will they advertise that it's out of slot Thursday and Friday.
