BBC Two are only bringing back Robot Wars because BBC Three is moving online, Because that channel doesn't have many new ideas for young viewers.

ITV's Saved is doing even worse than The Wonder of Britain did in the same slot last year. That was pulled after only two had been shown.

It'll mainly be the old fogies watching it that remember Robot Wars the first time around.

Quite an ironic title when you think about it

She was ubiquitous at one point (not that I was complaining!)

I guess Rachel Riley may be a good fit if they can't get her back. Or Suzi Perry. *shudders*

It appears to be an 8pm show in a 10pm slot. Ch5 have obviously been using ITV's scheduler.

Planet's Got Talent is schedule for Sunday at 6.30pm - directly opposite Countryfile. Will it do better in this slot than last year with SITE? I suspect not.

Midsomer Murders should have its easiest slot tonight its had in years. Against Dickensian at 8pm, WLTY and Great Barrier Reef, anything less than 5.5m will be disapointing. I'm hoping for 6m, given it got 5.4m last week against EE.

Midsomer should have finished on a high with John Nettles leaving. It's not the same.

If they had to continue, at least make it a spinoff, something like Tales of Midsomer or Badger's Drift Mysteries.

10pm is the best slot for the late news at the moment, but as drama and factual decline over the next decade, 9pm will probably be better. If ITV had any sense, they'd get in first. They have very little popular drama left at 9pm, and let's face it, there's little chance of finding more. What remains (Midsomer, Martin, ) etc. could play on Sundays. The run-of-the-mill drama and factual can go at 9.30pm.

If they want to push the News later for three weeks of Celeb, or the rare football match, so be it. The supposed 10pm fixed start is all over the chuffing shop, anyway.

Extremely surprised they are doing another series!

Which is probably the middle to older end of the BBC Three audience these days.

1.3m for News at 10 last night. Could be worse, could be better.

Who was that scruffy looking bloke on there last night?

ITN has poor correspondents, Damon Green for example. Rageh Omar is not all that either.

My Facebook feed disagrees with that assumption - a lot of people my age group (21-24) looking forward to it.

I watched Robot Wars nearly 20 years ago when I was in my 20s and I'll watch it again.

People seem happy it's returning.

"Anything less than 5.5m will be disappointing" is pretty unreasonable. It got 5.4m last week against the same competition except EE. It might get a slight bump from not facing EE but equally it'll probably get a small week 2 decline to counteract that. Episode 2 last year got 4.6m so 5.5m would be a very large year on year rise.

Well it would be dissapointing. Its facing Dickensian at 8pm, so has a good chance of rising from last week - or I hope so at least.

What do think it will get tonight?

Thought the line up with Craig Charles, Forrester and Pearce was great. Really looking forward to this returning!

ITV have had a strong few days - Endeavour and Benidorm are both doing very well. I think 5 million should be what they're aiming for with 9pm dramas now. Ninja Warrior also performing strongly. Last night was a poor night for them admittedly, but they'll be back on track tonight. Birds of A Feather and Mr Selfridge should hold up with solid figures over the next few days too.

I was expecting Derren Brown to do a lot better last night for Channel 4.

Celebrity Big Brother is proving to be a reliable hit again for Channel 5. I'm looking forward to the return of 10,000 BC which will hopefully capitalise on the reality TV audience a bit and launch above a million.
