I expect BBC One and ITV will both be hoping Voice rises a bit tonight, for differing reasons.

I think its a repeat

Think I rather watch the Snooker with Ronnie then the Voice.

I wonder how The Getaway Car does tonight. Based on how cheap as chips Now You See It did last year (5.5m in a 6.30pm slot) this should be able to start with well over 4.5m. But unlike NYSI which was 30minutes and you could sit through waiting for TVUK, a 1hr show will be more off putting and difficult to keep an audience if its not appealing enough.

It needs to do well though to last in that slot for 12 weeks. I imagine if it drops heavily it''ll swap places with Pointless Celebs - there no doubt about that.

I hope it does well though (if its any good) because the BBC are in need of another hit LE show.

If it does really badly, it might swap with Now You See It at 5.10pm! I think BBC One has an 8pm Six Nations match one Saturday in March, so either Getaway Car or Voice will have to give way that week.

Perhaps, but 12 weeks for The Getaway Car, they must be confident!?

BBC One are in need of a new light entertainment hit but I don't think The Getaway Car will be it. Delighted if I am proved wrong but the hybrid Total Wipeout / Prized Apart / 101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow format does not scream "hit television" to me.

Yes, it's a bit of a vote of confidence. Let's hope it's a more successful vote of confidence than it is when football managers get them from their chairmen.

H of De Vil was right about Shetland hurting Mr Selfridge.

@djhenshall @BBCScotland Yes, clear slot win for #Shetland. Great result! #MrSelfridge could only muster 3.2m/14.5% incl ITV+1.

Great night for ITV Studios and BBC1. If BBC Studios goes ahead it could be very odd seeing successes on other channels.

According to this, Saturday Night Takeaway's live episode in Barcelona will air on the 2nd April. You have to imagine that will be for the finale. 9th April launch for BGT then?

The Getaway Car is, quite literally, Total Wipeout with cars - from the nature of the rounds to the editing and the slight mockery of the contestants.

One problem: Total Wipeout managed to be amusing with Richard Hammond's commentary. Dermot O'Leary is boring. This is boring.

4m at launch; 2m by next week and beyond. Oh well.

18/12 - 5.00m (24.9%) v Text Santa”

If I was them I'd switch the Wednesday and Friday schedules around, so EastEnders takes the 8pm slot on Wednesday with The One Show having an hour long show on Friday. EastEnders would still get a Coronation Street leg up but on a day where there should be more young viewers available to watch.

I said it in the show thread but I actually quite enjoyed it, it's definitely got better as it's gone on although it is a carbon copy of total wipeout it's harmless enough fluff while I'm doing the ironing

I thought The Getaway Car was fine. Not fantastic, but watchable. I susect it will do fine.

Pretty poor for Selfridge, but I bet it would be averaging the same on Sunday at 9pm opposite War & Peace.

Speaking of War & Peace, as a costume drama its fab, but its not gripping me. Does anyone else feel the same?

They might as well have brought Wipeout back - I am sure it would have done just as well.

I agree with you. Its watchable but I actually prefer Jericho. I find it more exciting

Most memorably for me was when they were stopped from appearing on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, even when Wossy announced them as next weeks guests.

I'll not be watching #getawaycar in the future. Bad example of bad morals, badly produced, badly presented.

Dear @BBC,

We think #GetawayCar has failed its MOT.

The Getaway Car isn't groundbreaking or a TV classic, but I thought it was fun and watchable. As someone that has detested most BBC light entertainment shows in recent years I didn't mind this one. 12 episodes is a hell of a commitment though, better to start with 6 and see if it takes off.
