Maigret could easily air Easter Sunday and Easter Monday or alternatively Dark Angel could air across two nights.

Wonder how many people would of watched the David Haye fight on Dave. Was big on twitter and FTA. A peak would be more telling than the whole 2 hour broadcast though!!

Is Maigret definitely nearly ready to air as I am sure I read there was a delay with filming in Paris
According to this article, Maigret and Dark Angel are both due in March as are Doctor Thorne and Grantchester: http://www.express.co.uk/life-style/...hester-Maigret I think Maigret and Doctor Thorne will get Sunday slots with Dark Angel and Grantchester on weeknights. Not sure if they'll air both Maigret episodes together or separately. I think once Vera's done Sundays will be Churchill's Secret on 28th February with Maigret and Doctor Thorne in March and Victoria in April. I assume Dark Angel, Grantchester along with Scott & Bailey will fall on weeknights in March somewhere. Not sure if the Anna Friel 8 part drama Marcella will be ready in time for April. I'd have thought it might have to be as it seems too big a commission for them to run over the Summer and Autumn is already looking full up (Tennison, Cold Feet, The Halcyon, The Good Karma Hospital, Him, Safe House and possibly DCI Banks, Unforgotten and Brief Encounters). |

The Getaway Car = a new addition to Saturday night flops on BBC One. It's downhill from here. A Total Wipeout clone was never going to do well.

Last night's ratings: David Haye's return to boxing pulled in a massive 1.17m (6.0%) over on Dave, despite being all over after less than 1 round.

The Getaway Car did OK but considering the sandwich it had I would have expected a bit more. I wonder how long it'll be before it is swapped with Pointless? It could go quite low at 6pm though without the Pointless/Voice sandwich. I'm surprised it was beaten by Ninja Warrior taking everything into account.
Speaking of which that's a series high for Ninja Warrior. That's a pretty decent performance. Might have been close-ish during the 15 minute Voice overlap? Take Me Out is also doing solid business considering its full on clash with The Voice. Speaking of which, a poor rating for The Voice. Looks like the new coaches aren't going down too well and the talent/editing seems poor this year. That's a massive year on year drop of over 2m! BBC1 will not be pleased. Even though they are losing it it is still a BBC1 programme at this point which they have paid for and those ratings aren't great. Obviously in the context of wider TV it is a great number but not for The Voice. For context, X Factor's second Saturday show got 7.5m. ITV obviously won't be thrilled either given that they've bought it, but to be fair they've bought the format not the show and I imagine it will be quite a different show with a different cast next year (more like the US show I guess) so they shouldn't be *too* worried about what happens this year as it should be a different prospect next year. Of course they won't be pleased though, although it still got over 2 million more than any of their shows last night so it will still help them. |

I also think with Churchill's secret originally being intended for Christmas. I think they might save it for Easter. But we will need to wait and see. |

I'm sure BBC Productions has made Yes Prime Minister for GOLD so it wouldn't be strange to see them produce things for other channels much like ITV Studios. I think ITV Studios should consider pitching dramas that don't fit the ITV mold but would thrive on BBC Two, Channel 4 etc
Maigret to be shown on ITV is being distributed internationally by BBC Worldwide. |

ITV Studios made the Danny Baker comedy drama shown on BBC2, there will be a lot of crossing the channels in the next 1-2 years if BBC Studios gets the full go ahead from her majesties government.

Would the Dad's Army and The Snooker on BBC2 have had an impact on The Getaway Car and The Voice?

The 7.45-8.00pm chunk is interesting...
The Voice - 5.11m (24.0%) Ninja Warrior UK - 4.52m (21.2%) I know NWUK had already been on for 45 mins at that point so it's a bit unfair but still you wouldn't expect them to be so close. The Voice jumped a million at 8pm and continued to grow throughout. I wonder if NWUK dented it slightly? Can't really blame it on Getaway Car. 4 million isn't an awful lead-in, albeit not brilliant (X Factor got much less than that most weeks). Also noticeable is how quickly Ninja Warrior rose during its first 45 minutes. It dipped slightly at 7.45pm as The Voice dented it. Looking at how it was doing up until then if it weren't for The Voice that final 15 minutes would probably have been above 5 million. Take Me Out would probably then have been above 4 million. By contrast Getaway Car was fairly stagnant throughout, only receiving a small pre-Voice tune in during its final 15 minutes. |

Very poor for TVUK. The X Factor seemigly still the No1 singing show.
Ninja Warrior UK is doing excellently. I like many others thought this show would collapse on its own, but its held strong and shown that is can do well wthout BGT. I suspect when this run finishes the next will start with BGT. Like last year when ITV had a poor show (SITE) viewers just drifted to TVUK as the best alternative. But now TVUK is weakening, viewers are turning to ITV. Very surprising. The Getaway Car didn't too badly, but given Now You See It got 5.5m last year, that's a pretty poor start. I suspect it'll be down mid-3m next week then be replaced by Pointless. |

Standout rating of the night clearly the boxing, which shows what a waste of time it is the likes of ITV and C5 persevering with the sport.
A frankly ridiculous number tuning in for a name and a "fight" that was a total non event over after less than 2 minutes. And you're not going to get those kind of names crop up very often. No doubt Haye will be back to PPV next time out. So really and truly, what is the point of trying to build an audience for boxing on FTA? Absolutely nothing to be achieved. Dave's production values were really low as well. I don't get the viewing public sometimes. *sighs* |
