I have no objections in making a contribution if it was possible, I just worry about the complications and/or endless red tape. Also, I know we're a nice bunch of people, but let's be honest we don't know each other personally so how do you know I won't run off with all your money once people start paying their contribution?”

If I remember rightly, it's incredibly expensive as well. We're not just talking a couple of hundred here, but a four figure sum.

And even then, there'd be restrictions on what you could do with the data. We couldn't just post the whole lot on here every day (sadly).

ITV NAT got a boost from the NTA's compared to Tuesday night but the news didn't start until 10:03pm after some adverts. Whereas BBC NAT starts bang on 10pm.

Decent rating for it, down almost a million on last year.”

BIB - isn't this an oxymoron.

Not very impressive for the football, although BT were also showing a cup replay (Liverpool V Exeter) so that would have taken away a few viewers.

This is the thing. I'd also be willing to contribute if it was feasible but I don't think it is.

Thanks for posting the update from Daniel btw. I do hope they reach a positive conclusion as it would be such a shame to see DS lose ratings access.

Decent enough for the NTAs although quite a bit down on last year. A lot of these one off award/event shows seem to have declined lately though.

I made my predictions when the Radio Times printed the nominees for voting purposes. I got them all right with the exception of Best Newcomer (I said Richard Blackwood rather than Shayne Ward.) and the two awards that Dr Foster won I had down for Poldark/

I also correctly predicted The Big Bang Theory. As we saw, many of the awards diverged towards TV's biggest ratings winners (Downton, Strictly, Bake Off, IAC) and in the world of digital television TBBT is a ratings behemoth.

Still totally unconvinced by the popularity of GoT in this country. It's a sort of TV equivalent of The Emperor's New Clothes. Everyone pretends they watch it cos they think they'll look uncool and foolish if they admit otherwise, but nobody actually does.

Maybe because the BBC doesn't rely on advertising. What do you want? Watch the BBC News then if those three minutes mean that much to you.

I just registered with broadcast but I didnt realise you had to subscribe to read the ratings. Its £24 +vat a month just wondering why digital spy couldnt use this for the information in another post someone mentioned a four figure sum does that provide much more data or something ?

Thanks.

If ITV wanted to start bang-on 10pm they could, they started at 10:00pm on Tuesday night if I remember correctly. The same night they went from their 9pm show straight into the news with only 1 promo and a "coming up after News at Ten" regional news teaser before the news started.

They manage to start their other shows on time on the hour, but they need to up their game to compete with BBC NAT.

Maybe they should focus there news on the youth audience with tweets and all that, BBC News serves the older audience with bias for years.

When I had my free trial, they offered me a deal to continue. It was around £3,000 a year, about 60 quid a week.

I agree. Although many of my friends use the BBC News app on their iPhones which defeats the purpose of watching the NAT. Unless there's a big news story happening that day, the news isn't turned on.

I'm not aware that ITV have an app but the BBC one is very good. Tom Bradby has potential, I like him so far on the NAT but sometimes gets words wrong, something Huw Edwards doesn't do often.

I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of ratings on DS isn't purely a financial issue. The site has really gone downhill since the revamp with loads of clickbait articles. The soap section is a mess full of 'OMG!...' and '5 things you didn't know about...' type articles.

Obviously they do not want to start bang on ten then. I hardly think the general viewer get's their stopwatch out.

Maybe it's so they give viewers time to make a cuppa before sitting down to watch Tom at Ten?

Also gives viewers plenty of time to switch over to BBC NAT if they have to sit through ads.

NTAs reminds me very much of the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party in tone these days, and it kinda works.

Shayne Ward winning best newcomer last night, tells you everything about the NTA's.

Never mind, I managed to get hold of Broadcast link...

BBC1:
FA Cup- 3.9m (18%) *peak of 4.5m (19.9%)

BBC2:
Russell Howard’s Good News- 720,000 (4.2%)

ITV:
NTAs- 5.5m (25.5%) *peak of 6.0m (27.4%)

Channel 4:
Bodyshockers: Nips, Tucks and Tattoos- 950,000 (6.2%)

Channel 5:
Celebrity Big Brother- 2.1m (9.4%)
10,000 BC Two Tribes- 619,000 (3.9%)

Gold:
The Comic Strip Presents… Red Top- 127,000 (0.9%)

That is shocking for 10000BC! As expected CBB recieved a big +1 ratings. Also, interesting that i think that is one of CBBs highest ratings on C5 when facing the NTAs, I'm pretty sure it's almost always gone sub 2m?

10,000 BC Two Tribes: 619k (3.9%)

Obviously hugely disappointing. Didn't deserve that figure. But a few possible causes:

1) The first series ended up being a disaster with producers having to intervene all the while. Viewers not prepared to give it another chance?
2) The NTAs and the football messed up normal viewing patterns - a lot of these viewers would have recorded programmes on other channels to watch afterwards.
3) Celebrity Big Brother on +1 would have also taken more viewers than usual away, for the above reason.

Anyway, it's essentially DOA with that number which is a real shame.

CBB held up well. Expected sub 2m. Strangely, Friday night evictions rarely get high numbers but I'm hoping for 2.4 tonight (part 1).
