The NTA rating is OK, but I thought it would be a little higher.

You'd think that an awards show with all the most popular people on TV, on a night with no real opposition (football on BBC 1) would attract a fairly big audience. 5.5 isn't a bad rating, I just felt it might go close to 7m. it would be interesting to see a breakdown of the demographics, I wonder if many of the older default BBC 1 audience tuned in.

I enjoyed the NTAs, however Dermot was a terrible host. Constant snide comments which nobody found amusing and just seemed to be in a strange mood. Very different to his presenting on X Factor, which was good.

I wonder too, especially given a significant older default ITV audience would have been watching as it began in Corrie's usual Wed slot.

£3,000 a year for ratings. How do they get away with charging that. You'd think they were offering state secrets.

It's not really aimed at enthusiasts. The businesses that rely on that data will happily pay.

I expect like True Blood (which Fox kept after the Sky/HBO deal) C4 will keep it (if they want it).

That is shocking for 10000BC! As expected CBB recieved a big +1 ratings. Also, interesting that i think that is one of CBBs highest ratings on C5 when facing the NTAs, I'm pretty sure it's almost always gone sub 2m?”

That is a good ratings for cbb considering it was against NTAs.

I have to agree with you - hadn't planned to watch this but ended up seeing it elsewhere. Dermot IMO was below par and his couple of remarks/questions to Tess about Strictly winning in relation to ratings was odd - almost came across as a sour grapes dig at X Factor for not winning/coming lower in the ratings

Not a lot really in the grand scheme of things for a business. If DS are having to make those sort of cuts it doesn't suggest it's in great shape..

If I'm right in thinking the broadcasters pay for BARB, I don't see why third parties should be allowed to profit from the data.

I realise there's a similar situation with TV listings, but most providers include editorial content with the listings, and none of the paper or online products could be described as exorbitant, even though one or two of them cost a bit more than necessary.

If you ran a small business running a handful of local daytime ads on ITV once a year, it would cost you more to find out how many people saw the ads than it would to pay for the ads in the first place. You can get a regional ad on ITV for a few hundred quid at certain times of day.

Exactly. Airlines don't offer slashed prices for aerosexuals.

Fox 21 make Homeland so it's not affected likewise with Episodes, Shameless and Roadies.

As quite a few of us said on here at the time. I was most annoyed by the AI figures it got. These were amazing and if the BBC were really about giving viewers quality entertainment and not just big ratings then they would have cared as much about these as the ratings - which were not actually that bad despite the wrong slot for a family show.

Believe it or not there is still a campaign to get the BBC to change its mind.

No chance, of course, and if ITV were to take it on they would likely put it on at 7 pm on Sunday and get lots of angry Jeckyll and Hyde viewers wanting to know why the lions do not have three heads and breathe fire.

British TV was once the home of quality entertainment and is now the home of extraordinarily inept scheduling.

Dermot did seem a bit odd, and his banter seemed to just consist of him trying to get the previous winners off the stage so he could move on.

Not the best example, as they'd deal with a media buying agency and they'd present to the client info about demographics and how many people are expected to watch the ad spots booked. Not the rating for the actual programmes.

I'm not very hopeful but does anyone have the figures excluding +1 for the following shows from yesterday please:

Coronation Street
The National Television Awards 2016
10,000 BC

Thanks.

He's unable to say right now if this is permanent or temporary as this is still being decided.

Not great news, but at least he took the time to reply. A case of don't shoot the messenger here, as I'm sure Daniel K is a ratings nut like we all are.

He added he should know more in a few days. So let's hope there's a positive resolution.”

Thanks for posting this Dancc. I really hope they get access back as the numbers are invaluable. It will be a massive shame if they don't return. Fingers crossed.

Decent rating for it, down almost a million on last year.”

Decent enough I guess. It all flat very flat last night and a bit of a drag tbh. Also Dermot quizzing Tess at the end seemed very odd indeed about TXF. "Do you go on ratings?" She probably wanted to say yes to that question!

This is going to cause major problems for the RPG if the ratings reports don't return.

I'll just have to include a including +1 option for ITV shows. It wouldn't be so bad if mediatel had updated for yesterday but sadly they haven't.
