Read this in my local tyre centre while I was getting my front tyres replaced. This could really hurt ITV, as IAC without them is just a very dated reality show and would collapse in the hands of someone like Caroline Flack, and BGT could lose a lot of viewers as they make this more watchable. I think it's likely they would split their year between ITV and Amazon, BGT is a Syco show, so they would continue on that, but SNT couldn't continue without them and IAC would falter. However, it's case of money and maybe they want to move on from ITV after 18 years.
Also DW taking a rest this year is good news, as last year's series was badly hit by the RUWC and being opposite TXF. Going back to the spring and hiring a new scriptwriter is better, as the show will probably face something like YBF in a 7 pm slot in May.

To be fair to The Sun it's direct quotes. Not the usual " a source close to the pair" They also mention that they're in their last year of contract at ITV.
Clearly just negotiating tactics.

I wonder if they get the huge offers from another channel Eamonn Holmes gets when his contract is due for renewal (but strangely he never takes up the offers).

That's good. I think a lot of people would love to see them carry on with Celeb and Talent. I'm not sure there's the same clamour for Takeaway these days, though, so maybe there's an opportunity for something new there.

That's a very good point. I think things like Vera and Endeavour would be more use to ITV on spring and summer Sundays, rather than in Winter, and having Voice 7 to 9pm on Winter Sundays would save the dramas for later in 2017.

I still don't think Voice will do much for ITV, though!

It looks like Sky has decided to shift one of their new US drama acquisitions for Sky Living over to Sky 1 for some reason.

Limitless, the TV series based on the film, which was picked up for Sky Living last October is now up on the Sky 1 website.

So much for Sky 1 becoming focussed on the best original UK commissions and Sky Living becoming the home of US drama (well, except for all the stuff they skim off for Sky Atlantic) as they don't seem to have a clear strategy for the channels.

Most likely BBC One will schedule it before BGT. Actually a year off, a new companion and a new scriptwriter could rejuvenate the show, which was becoming inward looking under Moffat and turning away casual fans. Much as I liked the last series, a few of the episodes really were strange and I can see why the overnights, though not helped by facing England in the RUWC, fell to 3.8 million at times. Also with TV going from BBC One after the current series, BBC One in early evening is going to be barren again for the first three months of next year.

Would ITV let them go? They're pretty much the core of BGT, IAC and Takeaway, three of ITV's biggest shows. I think ITV would offer them as much as it took to keep them.

Ridiculous tabloid story which makes it sound like a done deal in the headline, but gets less and less likely the further you read. The Sun will know that most people just read the headline, and then go off on one if it suits the reader's agenda, just like what happens here. Usually the discussion being pushed along by those who hate either Ant and Dec or ITV and want one or both to fail., saying they look bored on ITV etc etc.

The whole article is based on these quotes:

Asked if they would consider a move Ant, 40, said: “Well, we’re in the last year of our contract so that would be very unfair of me to say — wouldn’t it?”

And Dec added: “Who knows where we are going to be?”

Which sounds light hearted off the cuff comments, hardly a signature on a dotted line.

Can you imagine anyone signing up to Amazon Prime to watch a SNT style format with Ant and Dec? I think tabloids will be running stories like this a lot now following Clarkson's move. It's the 2010s version of saying someone is moving to Sky/Channel 4/Channel 5

What a load of crap Ant and Dec are talking. I guarantee they will sign up for another ITV deal, for more money, they have no intention of jumping ship. People can blame The Sun but the way A&D themselves speak they knew exactly what they were doing. Rather pathetic really, as even ITV will know full well they wouldn't leave TV for bloody Amazon, it's all just a game. Then again slightly more believable than them going to the BBC Either way they'll be quids in, just as intended.

You know saying that, I was watching an episode of I'm Alan Partridge the other day, and Alan said to the BBC boss something like 'we will take the show to Sky', which is obviously mocking Sky.

Funny how it turned out real in the end isn't it.

I don't disagree but they are the same as us, footballers, whoever. Money talks and if
someone came along with a ridiculous amount of money it would be hard to turn down.
Only money could compensate going from millions to one man and his dog watching elsewhere.

The most regular contract negotiations played out in the press is Eamonn Holmes'

Every time his contract with Sky is coming to and end, the tabloids say he is signing for ITV. Then every single time he doesn't.

I'm sure they are already being paid a ridiculous amount of money.

The UK Box Office ratings disappeared from DS months ago so I'm not hopeful.

I doubt we'll get those until ITV Media decides to update at some point next week. This thread will be in steep decline if this is going to be the way things go. The repetitive discussion of soap ratings may well be coming to an end though which will please some.

Of course they are but its human nature, you always look for more.

It may be a huge amount of money, but I wouldn't use the word ridiculous to describe it. They're paid what they're worth to a TV company, which sounds fair enough to me.

I wonder if NWUK will rise again tonight, or drop back as TVUk rises.

I think it might, The Voice was terrible again tonight and may shed some more viewers- I'm starting to wonder if it's just singing show fatigue or a deliberate attempt to torpedo the brand before I TV take over
