I think so. They've been advertising it since at least Tuesday, a really good advert actually that plays on the fact it's on Halloween, Special One Vs Normal One. It's a fantastic rivalry that's developed over the past decade to one of my favourite fixtures. Could be Mourinhos last game? Klopps first league win? All the ingredients for a big audience, plus I gather Liverpool games rate very high?

Out of interest, out of all the different slots available for PL TV games Saturday to Monday what tends to rate the highest? I know it depends on the game but typically which one is best?

I just watched it and its pretty good. Its not perfect and there were some things that did not care for but that's the same in DW as well. Certainly enjoyed it enough to continue with.

Having seen it though I am more convinced that its the wrong slot.

Jekyll and Hyde will be a success if it gets at least 4m weekly when you consider the competition.

Sherlock has had its best ratings on New Year's Day so no surprise it's going there, plus with the cinema screenings it's arguably the best day to schedule it.

The EastEnders trailer just says next week, if it doesn't have the day and time then it's a mistake in my opinion.

If people watch Jekyll and Hyde after Countryfile and Strictly that's a good thing. People add shows to their viewing routine rather than drop them.
Merlin was a bit hit & miss at the start but there was enough to bring people back, then it got better. New shows have to start strong and if they get more right than wrong in episode 1 then they have a chance.

It's disappeared from next Saturday's schedules so unless it's just a one off it appears so.

First of all, Andre would be that lots Dads age . Secondly, there has been many younger males in the past. Don't know why Jay would cause more young people to watch. There have been more famous ot better looking people taking place in the past.

If there are more younger ones watching, it may just be a few from X Factor. Don't personally think Jay or Peter would have made a difference.

For sure. It surely adds quite a lot to ratings. Eg. The England games during The Euros and World Cup are already in that 12-14m range. If England get to the quarters of the Euros, let's say 14m watch. It'll probably be closer to the 20m mark with people in pubs.

I was talking more in terms of how it would add to the ratings, as you do see large groups of men( not many women) wandering into pubs when there are big games on. When you count all the pubs together that are showing a big game, it must add a lot to the ratings as it is a far more communal event than something like a non sports show.
Mind you I do agree with the microchipping comment, some people will go into a pub and as soon as they see a match, they get into some kind of bubble that even a nuclear war wouldn't stop until Sky announces we have four minutes left to live.

Like any other panel it is weighted to be nationally representative, and an annual establishment survey is carried out to establish the size and profile of the OOH universe. Football, Rugby Union, Cricket, F1 and Golf are all extensively covered across their respective seasons, but other major events across a host of other sports are also looked at across the year. The panel reports on over 800 different fixtures per year.

OOH venues have a different advertising feed to that of the in-home audience, and most major live sporting events are covered by a weekly questionnaire. There is also the facility to ask ad-hoc questions to these viewers on a monthly basis. Ipsos have been managing the OOH panel on behalf of Sky since 2006.

I see what people are saying about Jekyll and Hyde's scheduling though it'd probably get away with an 8pm slot. They've tried to cover most of the violence with freeze frames or different camera angles but the bar scene pushed it a bit. Otherwise a good start but will the audience go for it?

A very odd decision, given that the Saturday night show would surely use most of the facilities, resources and crew from the main show. Surely, much more expensive to get it all set up special-like on a Thursday?

I see it flopping and being axed altogether, to be honest.

It would be better if J & H started lower as as viewrs caught up over the week, it increased the following week than start high and drop. That way its shows that viewrs are actively making viewing

I know I have been quite vocal f J&H on this thread, but honestly this is something completely different that has comes out of ITV drama. After, so many LE flops in this slot, average LE like Surprise Surprise, its nice to see something else fill this slot.

I'm bored of crime drama and I think commissions like this need to be done, even if they don't take off immediately.

I meant on ITV.I'm bored of crime dramas on ITV. BBC drama is more diverse anyway. This is the 1st time ITV has actually pushed the boat out. And then next year we have Beowulf.

I noticed that they scrapped the section where the contestants "begged" for a place at live shows in tonight's X Factor. Obviously aware that it didn't go down well.
