What do others think about this? Strictly at 9.32 million compared to XFactor at 6.35 million. Not surprising as Strictly is always fantastic week in, week out!.

Well XFactor is tired and well pasted its sell by date. Winners very very very rarely last longer than two year careers. Even Leona Lewis the great hope world wide success has fell by the way side now.

Next year when the BBC loses The Voice, I can see ITV taking it and dropping X Factor

Great news!

In the discussion thread, it looked as though there were some X Factor defectors! Strictly is always going to be better

This is my first year fully watching strictly. I've seen bits in the past but I decided to swap from X Factor simply because I'm tired and bored of it. Strictly is quite fun, I'm enjoying watching it, X Factor I got angry at the manipulation and the way the bottom two voting worked

I think X Factor is suffering from not being on the same day every week.

I only started watching Strictly to poke a bit of fun at Daniel O'Donnell but got sucked in by Jay and Aliona and the thread on this board which is much busier and thus more fun that the XF one.

XF is dead, RIP, it was well past its sell by date anyway, Simon should gave retired. The show is now no longer in the national conversation, over milked, over runs, over bloated and should just be over.

SCD is the nations favourite, it's a fantastic show, for all the family and it's great the public recognise it.

XF was loosing viewers last night from, 8.45 so those who gave it a try, were leaving in droves after about thirty minutes.

It needs to be cancelled.

I'm watching yesterdays episode right now and it's just horrible viewing. It feels more like Big Brother than a singing competition.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Emma and Marvin will be beaten as tess and Claudia are the sorts to bring in ratings, emma and Marvin aren't.

I'm pleased about that.

I ditched X factor a while ago.

Way, way past its sell by date..... Most of the public have noticed it.

XF has died . Sico just refuses to accept it and keeps trying resuss methods to bring it back to life . Used to be I wouldn't miss it for the world , then got bored of the same old routine , sob stories/rising from the ashes/bravery in adversity bullshit . This past two years I just watch the auditions shows for laughs , but even that has now become samey .
It's really just a huge audition process for Simon to manufacture the next big boyband and sign up a few other acts . Must tickle him that people line his pockets by playing along .
Team Strictly all the way (waves pom-poms) .

This exactly. The last time I watched was the year that they manipulated Cher Lloyd into the final as the expense of the Irish lady. I have no issue with Cher and quite admire how she's matured doing her thing (whatever that is) in US but that scam where they had to have her in th final at all costs was the absolute limit for me.

Ant and Dec would not want to be associated with another failing Simon Cowell show, do you recall, Red or Black.

Great to see SCD doing so well...of course there are still a few XF acts who have done well...Murs, OD,Lewis,Fergusson,Ella Henderson..but in the main it is a tired old show that Cowell tires to stir into life every year....its now all about the judges IMO.

I used to always watch X-Factor - though in recent years, it did feel like a case of my falling for the usual pantomime - we knew the viewers were being manipulated, and the hype was very OTT, and winning doesn't always mean that much in the long run - but it was a kind of familiar routine.

I only watched Strictly last year when that Irish woman - the actress from Mrs Browns Boys (which I don't watch) was in it.

This year, I was intrigued by Daniel O'Donnell (I live in Ireland, by the way!) and also like to look at Tristran, because his mother was a few years behind me in school, - I'M OLD! - and a neighbour years ago.

Then because we only see X-F on TV3 now (I don't get ITV anymore), and the rugby world cup was shown on TV3 when X-F was being shown in the UK, I missed lots of X-F, and wasn't that bothered. Tuned into a bit of it last night and it was just so ridiculous, to see Simon Cowell standing up and making his Final 3 announcement live - it's all so hyped up, and I'm fed up of King Simon Who Rules The World etc. I'd prefer to watch Strictly now.

Of course if Louis Walsh was back as a judge on X-F......

Sunday night, SCD and Countryfile beat the dead XF , so many people can't stand XF anymore.

On Saturday I watched X factor for the first time since the Leona Lewis series. I had a friend here who watches it so we watched SCD then turned over.

I won't be watching again. . Bored me rigid and the judges decisions about who to put through were very odd in some cases. Cheryl Cole was just odd, I couldn't put my finger on it but she wasn't a bit like I remembered her.

All we need are the official ratings now of both shows.

Cheryl seems to have aged a lot (beyond her 32)

Apparently there were 110 adverts in the 4 hours it was shown over the weekend.

Their main excuse for the ratings is that Strictly is generally viewed by old people who sit in on a Saturday night but the X Factor is watched on a Sunday by all the young things that go out on a Saturday!!!
