Is the winner of the show as irrelevant as ever

I always feel that this has been the problem in recent years in that whoever wins it doesn't really matter as the safe bland winner chosen by the public generally fades away anyway.

In turn people think what is the point of it and the audience has halved from its peak days

I suppose the likes of the success Ella Henderson has had and compare to some of the people who lasted longer than her that year

Would a relevant winner of the show give the push it needs for however long it has left.

in short no as the lifespan of the show is dependent on TV viewers and i would bet the vast majority dont give a toss what the acts do after the show

Agree. I know I've forgotten most of them about 20 minutes after the closing credits and the record sales and careers of those who win the show would say I'm not alone.

The acts who have done well are the ones who have shaken off the XF tag such as Ella and JLS
