I find that I might connect with a celeb either as the person they present or as a dancer; rarely both. This year the one celeb I connect with as both is Katie. The celebs I cannot connect with as either are Carol, Kellie, though her charleston wasn't bad, and Kirsty. I cannot connect with Jay as a dancer, which will irk me more as the celebs fall away and he remains and, possibly, wins. The celeb I connect with as a person but not a dancer is Jeremy; loving him.
Just can't connect with certain celebs...

Rather similar . Can't stand jay and not keen on jamelia and kirsty .
Georgia is a strange one . When she dances I like her and admire her. Then I forget about her . Totally .She just slips my mind entirely . So I suppose I'm not connecting with her either .
Can't connect with Helen, Kellie or Kirsty. I can't find anything interesting about Georgia and forget she is on the show most of the time. Really can't connect with Anita as there is something very 'head girl/blue peter presenter' about her which I find off-putting and I'm not as impressed by her dancing as many others seem to be. I seem to connect more with the worse dancers this year, as I really enjoy Ainsley and Jeremy and even though I fully expected to dislike Jamelia I actually like her and think she is one of the celebs who is just being themselves. The only one who I would really miss if they left, though, is Jay.

As I said I am just stating the fact that far more of those selected were females well above the average and people can make up their minds how that comes about, it could be just pure coincidence.

Exactly. Considering a lot of people have said some of their favourites are female, while stating they can't 'connect' to other females, it suggests the difference is their personality or dancing rather than gender.
i don't need to connect to any of them, or even particularly like them to appreciate and enjoy good dancing.
i mostly hope none will really annoy me, and none that are currently left have (i didn't like iwan much).
sometimes i wish people could connect more, but thats about their connection to dancing, not me, eg jay.

For me, it's Helen. I find her sterile and superior. It's a real shame as I have been a big supporter of Aljaz in years gone by, but I find watching Helen makes me wince. Her wide eyed grin that is permenantly etched onto her face is almost inane.

She's very pretty in a china-doll way, but I too find it hard to connect with her. I don't know why
