Maybe it's just like real life. We like some people more than others.

I hadn't heard of either Natalie or Jay before SCD (I don't watch soaps and my boy band days ended with the Bay City Rollers ) but I can say Artem's wafty choreography stopped me voting for Natalie. It got so bad I used to get annoyed every time she did it, which I know was not her fault but it became a 'thing' with me.

Same as Aliona with Matt Baker. He was my favourite for weeks but Aliona did such crazy dances I gave up with it.

I read somewhere the final attracts viewers who don't watch regularly and therefore don't have a favourite. So in their case it is just who they like on the night. And I know I have not had a favourite in quite a few series so I also have seen who I liked best and voted accordingly and I can't be alone in that.

I didn't say everyone conformed to this, but I read a lot of forum posts that indicated that there are people who do. Not that it actually matters. It's only Strictly, not life and death. Pay your money, vote for who you like.

To be fair you said people vote for their favourites in the final.

My point was not everyone has a favourite coming into the final so that's floating votes decided on the night based on what they see.

If you reread my post I think I said 'most' not everyone. Fair point though, maybe not most but I read a lot of posts last year of people voting for their favourites regardless of how they danced in the final. I'm not saying they're not entitled to do this. Just that it happens.
