I've often wondered if "no particular order" is actually true. I have a feeling they read out the results in the order of who got the most votes right down to who got the least.

At this stage, they're not going to leave the top of the leaderboard to be called last - it'd be far to obvious. Jeremy had already bounced over 4? Couples so they'd make sure it was someone who feasibly could be dance off danger.

I think its random till they get to the last 2 and then it is the 2nd person in the bottom 2 plus the next one who would be there - could be completely wrong though it may just be Anton was left this week for dramatic effect after being top of leaderboard last week

I think it's random. Last week, Jay messed up so they left him until nearly the end .. this week it was Katie. I think it's highly unlikely that either of them are trailing in the public vote but it racks up the tension. It wouldn't really rack up the tension to leave Carol or Jeremy until nearly last as everyone expects it.

You can sort of tell (if you had not looked up the spoiler) who is to be saved, as I have noticed for the last 2 or 3 weeks, for the camera mainly on the right, it is the first couple they show that is "saved".
For the Central / left camera, they start with the couple at the front, then finish on that couple just before the announcement - and in that case it is the last but one to be shown that is saved.

I found my self saying who was saved each time correctly
I assume they have other "patterns" they use - but they cannot be randomly pointing at couples - the Director knows who is to be announced as "saved" so has to get the shot set up for the closeup.

I doubt they've ever done that other than when there aren't many couples left and it's unavoidable

I think they order it based on what will cause the most suspense and dramatic effect. I don't think Katie was anywhere near the bottom two but obviously her dance didn't go well last night so they wanted to create a situation where one of the favourites looked to be in danger of going out.

Don't agree think it's random to final 2, But 2nd is a really popular dancer who didn't score highly with judges who could be in bottom 2 to create drama.

I don't think it reflects the results of the public vote but is "scripted" to reflect the judges scores. Take this week for example. Katie got slated so was predictably left till the last two despite it being plainly obvious that it would be Ainsley in the DO rather than her. However, when she came top of the LB last week, she was called out somewhere in the middle...as was Jay when he got his 10.

Kstie being left till last two had nothing whatsoever to do with Anton's latin - though many here would LOVE that to be the case.

Pretty much this, except they will mix up who gets named late as it would be seen to be unfair otherwise (for a variety of reasons). Katie was called out first the other week wasn't she?

Usually if someone has been in the dance off the previous week but is saved this week they call them early. They didn't with Kirsty.

Yes, I agree. I don't think the order tells us anything about the vote.

Last week and this week, Jeremy was called quite early, does that mean he is getting more votes than a lot of the others?

they let off an obvious duffer early to terrorise the others. It's an old Soviet trick.

Tons of votes from Radio 2 and Eggheads viewers. Let's face it, they're more likely to be Strictly fans too. On the Tellymix poll about who's the most favourite contestant, Jay is running miles ahead - over 80% vote.

If I was a producer and my job partly depended on generating interest by the sequence, I'd select all of them in the sequence in the order I wanted, then pick 2 I didn't care about and flip a coin on swapping them around.
