The phrase "No particular order" is a lie as the order is very much decided for maximum effect and dramatic tension....

I think this too.

Peterwas one of the last to be called and I'm sure has a huge fanbase. I think it probably is random..

Its mostly random but they just like to tease with the last people to be saved and will throw random saves in early like Carol and Jeremy.

I don't believe for a second they're read out in vote order.

Do we ever get to see percentages of votes?

No I don't think the BBC ever announce the percents like X Factor do.

We were talking about this tonight. My husband reckons it isn't random and they know exactly who is going to be called out next - not the dancers but the producers who have worked it out for the best "dramatic impact".

Voting % aren't given so that celebrities with a low number of votes are protected.

Otherwise it would put celebrities off joining the show.

The producers want to attract 'good' celebrities from all sorts of areas.

(Read this somewhere very sensible, but can't remember where now - it wasn't the Daily Wail

Neither do I. It can't be or it would mean Jay got less votes than nearly everyone last week bar Kirsty and Daniel (and one other .. can't remember who.) I seriously doubt that!

No particular order is a lie - it's in order of most dramatic effect/suspense.

If it was truly random, the call out would look a bit 'odd', but it's always announced in what seems like a neatly gift wrapped box.

They tend to only leave two of the top half of the leaderboard in the 'second half' of the results, because it would be a bit obvious to have Jeremy, Carol and Kirsty all be called in the first half, leaving Ainsley and Jamelia with Peter, Helen, Jay, Kellie and Georgia.

Of course there could be a shock result, but shock results don't come around often, so most weeks the call out is entirely predictable. I'm not saying I could guess every name in exact order, but like I said, from the top half of the leaderboard, 75% of them are likely to be called in the first half. If it was truly random, you wouldn't get those lingering at the bottom being called out last every week.

I believe this too . Those producers love to create tension and drama .

I've often wondered why they think creating tension and drama in every programme is beneficial to a programme . All this long pausing in reading out who is next to be saved .
They do it in all programmes .

How to make your programme as successful as possible by making your viewers as anxious and stressful as possible

Agreed. It is the order that makes the best TV.

Why would they do that?

Like everything else in this and every other reality TV show, things are arranged in a way that creates a sense of drama.

No, because they aren't called in order of the number of votes they accrued.

I also think we can deduce who the bottom three are, not just the two who are in the dance-off.

But I agree with other posters that up to this point, they are announced in the order that provides the best dramatic effect.

"No particular order" is probably a lie, but then again not nearly as big a lie as pretending the results show happens on a Sunday!!

It wouldn't really rack up the tension to leave Carol or Jeremy until nearly last as everyone expects it.”

So how is that random, then?!

Or maybe "in no particular order" means "not necessarily in vote/points order".

Has anyone else noticed a bit of a pattern with the camera work during the call outs? Very often whoever the camera pans to second after the last call out is made is very often announced next.

I paid particular attention this week, and thought that there was a pattern based on the judges scoring divided into those in the top 5 and the rest. It seemed to me that one of the top 5 was announced followed by one of the rest, then another of the top 5 and another of the rest until there were three left, any of which could have gone.

No particular order for me means the top 5 in no particular order each followed by one of the rest in no particular order.

'No particular order' means whatever the producers choose it to mean. That is, the order is chosen because they think it adds tension. It's based on judges score order and usually follows a top/bottom alternation. A "good" week, judges score better than your average, might get an earlier call. A "bad" week usually gets a later call. Top with judges are rarely called first. The DO couple highest with the judges are called first, leaving several around or below still in the danger zone. The final two will both be near the bottom of the board, and will feature one or both couples who have been in DO before, so they can show dread or resignation before the call and relief after.
