Every year I am disappointed by Tristan as a pro on this show. He never seems supportive of his celeb and certainly doesnt seem to ever build a strong rapport with any celeb he dances with. And I can't with the constand smiling. When he and Jamelia were upstairs with ainsley natalie tess and claudia I couldn't bear his set grin. Give your partner a hug man. Anyway I just think there are other pros they have dropped who do a better job than him
Would that be the two years he has featured on SCD He was gorgeous with Jennifer and equally lovely and supportive with Jamelia.

Moreover, he has, to me at leat, been nothing but lovely AND supportive of the two females he has partenered. Oh and I think, his smile, is something that is a persnal problem for you (no offence but you did mention it) and not for the majority of people that see him as a nice, genuinely lovely man on SCD.

From being nasty to too happy to being a 'ringah' to being difficult to work with, everyone else has had a bashing - what makes Tristan exempt?

You must include Brendan and Anton in that too..
Absolutely include Brendan and Anton as dull, and to be honest Kevin doesn't set the world alight either in my opinion as much as the BBC love him.

On DWTS, Tristan was paired with the kind of celebs Anton usually gets paired with on Strictly. He was always very supportive of them and did try to get the best he could out of them, without playing it for laughs. If Anton were to leave, I could easily see Tristan being slotted into that role again on Strictly. If that did happen, then I just hope the producers wouldn't encourage him to go for "comedy" - if that's what you can call it.

I think Brendan and Anton appear dull because as much as I love Anton he is probably the oldest pro (sorry Anton) and Brendan has mellowed over the years and lost his naughty boy image. He used to be more vocal along side James J and then dumped the lovely Camilla. I don't Tristan would follow Brendan so much but hope his Irish eyes have more than a little twinkle as he goes on. Out of the new breed of pros he is my favourite.

I also don't get where people are getting a diva vibe from her, I assume they're carrying all her pre-SCD baggage into this show and making the assumption she is difficult. Kirsty is the only one giving off diva vibes.

In the era were the Eastern Europeans have brought tons of showbiz and theatrical styles to SCD his choreography does seem "old school" and a bit dull though.
Sadly for Jamelia, I think this is more likely to be the case, hence the negativity about her. Yes, she's opinionated but that doesn't make her a 'handful' as some would put it.

So far, she has conducted herself with decorum, there's been no whining or diva strops.

Please excuse my typos in my last post. My eyes aren't that good when I use my phone, sorry. I should have said 'i don't think Tristan will follow Brendan'. Sorry again, will try harder .

Tristan not wearing a poppy on ITT. I don't normally feel offended but I take that as a snub to this country.

Tristan is not British though he's Irish. Also, his Dad was (don't know if he still is) a member of the Irish Army, therefore Tristan may feel it's disrespectful to his own country and his Dad to wear one. Who knows though, it's his choice.

I vaguely remember all this about Tristan also not wearing a poppy last year, I think he wore one for the main show last year but not ITT. Personally I think it should be up to him if he wears one or not.

BIB exactly! Also, in Southern Ireland we don't wear them, I don't even remember seeing them on sale anywhere ever so he's probably never worn one.

Also, (and this is not in answer to your post) I really don't see what Tristan wearing or not wearing a poppy has to do with his ability to be a good teacher or partner.

Why do you feel offended by an Irish person not wearing a poppy? It is a historical fact that Eire was neutral during the wars. So technically he has no 'fallen' to remember.

Just to add, I thought he seemed more chirpy tonight on ITT

I thought Tristan was lovely on ITT and it was great to hear Jamelia say what a cheerleader he is.

He was absolutely brilliant on DWTS with some contestants who needed very careful and special handling and was utterly charming, completely considerate and unfailingly patient.

Are you prepared to offer a well-reasoned, articulate supporting argument to that ludicrous comment, or are you going to leave it to stand alone and attract the ridicule it deserves?

Just confirmed what l already knew and posted about in another thread, Imo he is the most supportive of all the pros, but because he does it so quietly and inconspicuously it's not noticed by everyone.

They may have been neutral during the war but there were some heroes living and working in Ireland at the time. Look at the story of MV Kerlough. Many people saved by the 'neutral Irish'. However let's not take Tristan's missing poppy as an insult. There might be a very good reason and as another poster said it has nothing to do with him being a good teacher or dancer. I am a firm believer in wearing poppies, but it doesn't bother me in this instance.

Tristram seemed to have a good sense of humour and Zoe thinks he's so supportive he should be a life coach.

Bit of a revelation today

Love the man! He's really funny, encouraging, thought he was brilliant on ITT tonight saying he knew about the 'Illegal Lift' and the song was really slow. Seemed good humoured but honest.

He does need some dances which stand out yet and hopefully will have the chance to show it!
