I liked this episode, but what bugged me. Alex "OK on three. One, two, three, GO!"

So, that's on three or four, love?

I'm liking all the episodes, but there's so much crap in it. The writers don't have a strong vision; it's almost fatally flawed, doesn't feel like Supergirl; the pointless love-quadrangle is nonsense. It should have been given to CW.

Supergirl can't go to CW because they simply do not have the budget to do the special and practical effects required for the show.
What special effects? The ones we've seen so far are beyond poor. Flash & Arrow (and even Legends) have a smaller budget, and yet have far superior special effects compared to Supergirl.

Legends of Tomorrow has the best special effects of any of the DC Comics universe shows atm so there shouldn't be any excuse for Supergirl imho.

Latest episode was underwhelming. I think whoever said that US shows with lots of episodes in a season tend to have a concept and not a strong storyline are right.

So Non's plan is one that originated on Krypton as the AI mom knows about it but is forbidden from letting Kara in on it. Hmmm.

Not necessarily the case, depends on the show. Most of them have a season long story arc with odd weekly stories on top.

Reference to Lobo...plus points !!

Supergirl struggling against Master Jailer but Alex holding her own against him...minus points.

Lecture from Jimmy....triple minus points.

Who is this masked assailant..it's a mystery...anyhow here's two new police characters you've never seen before....quadruple minus points.

Indeed, I did have a little smirk at that.

Was that who MM and Alex were on about when Alex wondered if the masked man was "him" and MM said "no, there are no reports of him being in the city"?

I figured maybe they were on about someone from one of the sister shows that may cross over at some point.

I very much took it that , when it comes to Interstellar Bounty Hunter" it could only be one person!

Much better episode this week. Indigo (aka DC's Mystique if only in appearance!) came across as a more genuine threat and, coupled with Kara being on the outs with the DEO, did bring a sense of urgency to the story.

She doesn't really work well alone, not because she's not capable, but because she's used to having the team of people around her and as each one was peeled away, leaving only James, there was a definite sense of Supergirl feeling her otherworldly status more than normal. Especially when James took her to the Fortress of Solitude.

Throughout the episode the story emphasised just how devastating lies can be, from Siobhan's father having an affair, to the website being hacked and powerful people exposed for being cheats etc, to Indigo telling Kara she was the one to help her pod escape the Phantom Zone some 13 years earlier, all add up to the best scene in the show - when Alex finally tells Kara what happened with Astra.

Really powerful performance from both Melissa and Chyler in this scene and I'm glad they've not dragged it out and had Kara forgive her sister, and Hank, without prolonging the angst etc. It worked really well and created that bonded replacement family unit which Kara relies so heavily on.

Great to see Smallville’s Supergirl Laura Vandervoort as Indigo as well. I love it when they pull in previous incarnations of the characters on the show and loved the Easter Egg mention of her previous incarnation as Brainiac-8 and the Omegahedron Non had at the end!

Also the code Kara had to input referred to the launch sequence that Otis, Lex Luthor's henchman in the original Christopher Reeve Superman film had to punch in to launch the nuclear missiles but he'd written it on his arm and missed off some digits.

Hmm , a contra opinion might be :

Jimmy (aka Supermans mouthpiece) giving Supergirl orders. No no no.

More of the romance crap. And some sad stories to flesh out Siobhan, who turns into a nympho for no good reason. "oh my cheating dad"...Oh I could care less.

Winn , with lap top, being the DEO's go to guy...Catco needs to have some kind of clocking on system, what does Cat think Jimmy, Winn and Kara do all day.

Cheap looking villain. And what was the point of her being the one who rescued Supergirl from the Phantom Zone, did we actually have that as some huge outstanding mystery ?

Non (descript) the worst actor ever.

Dialogue to make you vomit.

Spurious visit to the Fortress of Solitude..well, because.

Frankly, except for the last 5 minutes, I thought this was garbage.

Shan't be watching anymore, and 5 episodes in I thought it had real promise. Lazy, lazy writing.

This show is either heading for the CW channel or better still, is gonna get cancelled by abc. I really can't see a second season.

Well, at least Gotham is back on FOX!

Thanks goodness Winn has a secret romance (or something) going on. If there's one thing missing from Supergirl it is relationships.

The door key to Superman's house weighs 1 million tons.

After seeing the guest cast for next week, I think that's enough for me.

Of course the key was a nice nod to an earlier more innocent age but shouldn't it be a bit harder to pick up and be pretty embedded in the earth, not just lying on the snow !!

And then it was snowing inside meaning there's no roof !

Indigo looked like someone tried and failed at a bit of Mystique cosplay.

Should Alex have been saying 'That's my sister' in front of everyone at the DEO?

Or do they already know that fact?

I thought so but wasn't sure.

I still think it was a bit lame of Hank to say 'What's that?'

I was expecting him or Alex to say 'Is it a Plane' etc.

I can see how they had to have Supergirl need Hank and the DEO to help with the missile, so they could resolve her trying to cope alone, but a deactivation key pad on the side of the missile? I guess they put them there just in case they need a flying superhero to disarm one.

Was expecting her to take it into space like Superman did in one of the original movies.

Looks like Superman needs to change the lock to the fortress of solitude. Ok, so when he decided a super heavy key would be enough he was probably the only Kryptonian on Earth, but now any of them (assuming they all have similar yellow sun induced strength) could get access.

At least the love triangle looks to be resolved. Winn with new girl and Jimmy free to get with Kara. Though I expect there will be a lot of will they/won't they just to drag it out.
