The Supergirl flying and Flash running - in the same scene - was pretty terrible...

Enjoyed the interactions between Flash and Kara when not on mission but them trying to deal with the two rogue girls was poorly done. They got beat and had to rely on firemen to defeat the baddies.

So much for them having a plan and not rushing into action without thinking how they'd defeat them. I suppose that's a common failing with superheroes, always relying on their super abilities when others like Batman use their smarts to get the upper hand. Much like Max Lord and Lex Luthor do.

Can't see how Supergirl will deal with Non and all the others in his group without a proper plan. One where a Superman cameo wouldn't be amiss yet they'll ignore he exists or come up with some lame reason he's not getting involved. "It's only National City at risk, he'll step in when Non threatens Metropolis or the world." [rolls eyes till dizzy].

Maybe MM and Alex will come up with something by rescuing Alex's father and seeing what stuff they have in research, or Max Lord will save the day after Supergirl tries to fight Non alone and they just end up pushing each other through walls and stuff as always.

Aside from the villains themselves (who only existed to give Kara and Barry someone to fight) and the usual lame Kara/Jimmy stuff I thought that was an excellent episode.

And yet, the FX is still of a poorer quality. The Supergirl FX crew are obviously lacking somewhere.

Oddly enough, it's not just Non; there are other Kyrptonians involved too. This fight would be equivalent to a single young girl fighting a group of guys. It's silly really, and she's obviously going to need help, yet for MM and Alex to return so quick would seem all too convenient.

I'm in agreement with you too. In some circumstances, Superman would just have to be involved.

Just caught up with the latest episode (19 - Myriad)

So they come up with a lame reason for Superman to be sidelined again. First he's off world on vacation or something then when he does turn up it appears his time on Earth makes him susceptible to the signal.

I did laugh when it showed him approaching, thinking they're actually going to show him this time, only for him to land and join the 'zombies'.

Predictably Max Lord has a way of avoiding the mind control. I loved how Cat walked in as if nothing was wrong. She's certainly the best character in the show.

Also predictably Alex would want to go back to the city to help, be useless, and be brought under mind control too. If only Max had sent her some ear rings. He seemed to have a thing for her recently.

Hope the solution isn't too cheesy when all Supergirl needs to do is put something in the way of the satellite signal if she can't destroy the damn thing due to some super duper force field.

The simplest solution would be red kryptonite to remove the power from Non and his gang. Strange they forgot about that when it's only a few episodes ago.

The Red Kryptonite developed by Maxwell would only make Non and the others super angry and make them more of a threat.

No they should use the technology from the Master Jailer a few episodes back in which he used a light that mimicked the red sun of Krypton and sapped Kara's powers.

This series get more ridiculous with each upcoming week. A real waste of some decent special FX.

Maybe it's time to pull the plug but I heard it has already been renewed for another season.

Be glad he was shown at all.

I think, at some point though, they're going to have to show him. They can only exclude that character for so long with us knowing of his existence, and with global threats looming. It's a shame DC (head office guys) can't understand the logic in allowing Superman, Batman and co to actually appear in their tv series. Doesn't have to be main roles, just show up occasionally, rather than just be referenced.

What I find even more odd, is that Non didn't use Superman to fight Kara. Surely he's aware that Superman is another one of his Zombies? Surely he'd have been a tougher opponent for Kara than Alex?

Once again, lousy writing. Should have just kept Superman off world; at least there would be an explanation for his vacancy.

It seems bad to say, but I actually find this unfortunate. I'd much rather them cancel the show and bring the character (or characters?) over to the CW to be used alongside Arrow, Flash and Legends. I hear Rip Hunter is looking for new team members.

No, still no official confirmation of a season two yet but it's pretty likely a given it will get one.

Strange episode, bits of it worked really well, others seemed completely off pace and the ad breaks were seriously irritating as hell.

Some cracking one liners again, Cat on the delivery end of the best with her quip regarding Harrison Ford and she once again took the MVP award for providing direction and insight for Supergirl to find the space to breathe and to come up with an alternative solution.

But the biggest problem for me is how they've failed to make Non an effective villain and Indigo just comes across as a complete ham.

Oh and yeah that Superman appearance, clever yes to use an iconic image of him flying in but the rationale for why he'd be affected by Myriad really was stretching it a bit.

And Hank/J'onn better not be dead or I'll be seriously pissed off.

That was the worse bit of the episode for me. I wish they would stop using Superman in the show, especially as they are obviously not allowed to use his image.

But the way they used him basically emancipated him, way too PC. Can't have man out doing Supergirl. rolleyes

I thought it was a good episode.

I agree about the Superman bit they should have just kept to the fact he wasn't on Earth at the moment to explain why he wasn't there.

TBH I think they should just ignore the fact he exists. We're intelligent viewers these days, we know when someone has a big bag covering their belly it is because they are pregnant in real life, and we know that Superman can't be shown because of copyright issues. So I personally can live without the need for 'Her cousin' to be in the show.

I agree that it would be better to just not mention him.

As for why he was affected and Supergirl wasn't that was kinda odd why not just say Astra put something in it so she and members of her family wasn't.

Superman and Supergirl are related through their Dads so it would work.

Yes that would have been a much better explanation, certain wouldn't have made Superman look like a wuss.

I thought the mention of her 'cousin' and his approach/mind control scene was some kind of in-joke, the writers know we know they can't have him in show, so they do silly teases. A bit like Callista's character in the episode being bugged by Harrison Ford, who she is married to IRL.

I'm sure they will come up with other silly ways of having superman 'there but not there'.

Laura V though.

Hopefully when they do season two they will iron out all the ridiculous storyline kinks - I absolutely love the show but there are admittedly a few irritations.

Was so excited by the possibility of Superman only for them to completely mess it up; just ignore him all together from this point forward please as the rationale for him being affected was just pathetic.

Was it just me, or was it implied that Indigo was in some way responsible for the death of all the other Green Martians?

There was some kind of reference to the Martians I seem to remember but I can't recall if they were implying she was responsible for their deaths, it sounded something like though which is either poor show running or a story they've not explored yet!

Well I know
Spoiler
he isn't because I've seen next week's promo but I was being dramatic

It won't be because of copyright. If it was, we wouldn't have heard his name multiple times or seen his iconic (but faceless) appearance.

Superman and Supergirl are both DC/WB characters, and DC/WB makes this series.

DC just (stupidly) wants to keep its film and TV universes separate, unlike Marvel/Disney, and doesn't want its biggest characters anywhere other than the big screen.

I agree, though, that they should ignore that he exists. I think it would work much better if Kara was the *only* Kryptonian hero on Earth.

Yes it could have been a different dimension earth where Superman didn't go to earth, but for some reason Kara did.

Perhaps Superman's ship got blown up and Kara arrived on time.

Obviously the story has already been set so it is just wishful thinking.

Hopefully they'll just let Superman fade into history rather than keep mentioning him.

Yeah, sorry it was the red sun I was thinking of. The one that saps the kryptonian's powers when no yellow sun is available. So not as simple as the green kryptonite solution Max has, even if it would be less harmful to the city.
