Next thing you know Cat Grant saying she is going to binge watch Ally Mcbeal.

Supergirl spent more of her life on earth so should have been affected, Alex just getting in the way when there is nothing she could do.

I know they cant make her too overpowered but you would think she could throw a punch faster than Bruce Lee.

Not as much time as Superman. He's older than Kara and has been on Earth since he was a baby, whereas she's only been there since she was 13.

Alex was so damn stupid, though.

No she didn't. Kal-El has been on the Earth since he was a baby, Kara only landed when she was about 14.

It was still a damn rubbish excuse. Still. Mustn't think about it or will go off the show! LOL

I love it so much yet it's not so Supergirl. More just a bit above average Girl.

But Cat Grant is the star. She's absolutely brilliant and Cadiva will understand this. That hug between them was very much like the kiss between Malec. Sooo adorable

Oh I know, I wasn't excusing

It would have made more sense if they'd stuck to Clark being off planet.

Not quite as hot though

I honestly don't think they need to exclude Superman from this show. DC/WB need to let it happen. It's obviously not going to be Henry Cavil, but what's truly stopping them from having their own Superman that can show up to help out once every season or so?

It's simply stupid that DC/WB have this rule about their big names. How does it hurt their film franchise? It doesn't. They're idiots. There's no logic what-so-ever in them keeping their big names for the big screen. I'm sure if it wasn't a matter of expense, that Rogers, Stark or another Marvel hero would show up on AoS, but I'd imagine they'd cost a bit more. DC/WB have the unique ability here to cast someone as their mainstream heroes that isn't going to cost them a fortune.

I get they're wanting to keep two universes apart, and to some degree, I'm content with that, but why the small screen has to feature only the secondary heroes (with the exception of Flash; he's somewhere in the middle) it doesn't make sense.

I meant Kara has spent the majority of her life on earth, probably half.

I'd say a little less than half. She was what, 13 or 14 when she arrived? She's got to be in her early 20's now.

Agreed. It's utterly pathetic. We CAN work out the difference and I cannot fathom how one property could possibly harm the other!

She's supposed to be early 20s on the show so actually way less than half her life. Clark, on the other hand, has been on Earth his whole life.

Either way, it was still a dumb rationale for why it affected Clark and not Kara.

Not true. He was born (and thus, living for a short time) on Krypton.

You are right though, it is/was a lame excuse.

Plus he was in space for a while before landing on earth. Although that depends what origin story they are going with.

It was said she has lived on for Earth 12-13 Years and arrived when she was 14.

So almost half her life.

Then the 26 Years she spent in The Phantom Zone.

TBH I think they should just ignore the fact he exists. We're intelligent viewers these days, we know when someone has a big bag covering their belly it is because they are pregnant in real life, and we know that Superman can't be shown because of copyright issues. So I personally can live without the need for 'Her cousin' to be in the show.
Does USTV go for the 'big bag' option or what 'tricks' do they have?

They have a lot of tricks but the 'big bag' has been used a lot recently.

In one show they have included a fake pregnancy to hide a real life one.

We don't know for sure. The show creators mentioned that in an interview and said something about not saying which version of Earth she was on. Can't remember which site it was on now but it was mentioned earlier in the thread.

Ah found it, it was on THR: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...poilers-878275

Kreisberg says:

What is Barry doing in National City?

While trying to increase his speed while wearing a tachyon generator strapped to his chest, Barry accidentally runs too fast and ends up traveling to a different universe. Not Earth-3 specifically, but another Earth where the Flash and Arrow and all their teammates don't exist. While stuck in National City, Barry ends up making himself useful to Kara and the DEO.
There was this comment on EW from Kreisberg:

Is there a Kara Danvers on Earth-1? Could we meet her on The Flash? — Timothy

Yes, but … “Any Kara that exists on Earth 1 would also have to have been an alien,” says EP Andrew Kreisberg. “It can’t just be Kara Danvers from Poughkeepsie.”
Does that mean she could be a potential super (or maybe a power) girl on his Earth, too? “Sure, different costume, but sure,” Kreisberg adds.

I think, at some point though, they're going to have to show him. They can only exclude that character for so long with us knowing of his existence, and with global threats looming. It's a shame DC (head office guys) can't understand the logic in allowing Superman, Batman and co to actually appear in their tv series. Doesn't have to be main roles, just show up occasionally, rather than just be referenced.
Yep, it's disappointing when WB/DC have specifically made a point out of being different than Marvel by not having their movies and even all their TV shows exist in the same universe, so there's really no continuety issues at all. I suppose there might be some minor creative concerns about Superman potentially stealing the spotlight, but no more so than the hoops they constantly have to jump through not to show him.

That said, I generally don't like the team-ups all that much. The Arrow/Flash ones were not great, the second one was outright terrible, and I don't much care for Legends either. Still, it would be pretty cool to see Superman and Supergirl on screen together.

As for the rest of the episode, it was pretty much business as usual. Lots of stupid stuff, but oddly enjoyable somehow, even if the music seemed a little over-the-top dramatic. It was like they never switched out of "previously on Supergirl"-mode.

BIB - I think when Barry was with Supergirl, he specifically searched for himself and his friends but couldn't find them on the computer. He also questioned Supergirl about The Flash and The Arrow and she seemed to indicate she'd never heard of them.

I put this in the Flash thread but the makers have said they are planning on having Power Girl show up in series 3 of The Flash.

If you don't know in the comics Power Girl is Supergirl from a diffrent Earth (In the comics Supergirl is Earth 1 Power Girl is Earth 2)

They haven't said if she will be from Earth 1 or another Earth i.e Earth 4.

And no she won't have THAT costume more likely her New 52 one.

As I also said over there, I think it's more a desire than a certainty.

If this Power Girl is to exist on Earth 1 (with Ollie & Barry) then by definition, Clark Kent (and Superman) should also exist. He doesn't. If my understanding of the comics is right, Power Girl comes from a world (an Earth) where Superman is also present, and she's essentially Kara, just older.

We don't know he doesn't exist on Earth 1 he may have just decided not to reveal himself to the world or like in Smallville and the start of Man Of Steel help people in secret.

It is Kara though in a way older as her ship got to Earth first.

If it happens Melissa Benoist will play her.
