Yep, it's disappointing when WB/DC have specifically made a point out of being different than Marvel by not having their movies and even all their TV shows exist in the same universe, so there's really no continuety issues at all. I suppose there might be some minor creative concerns about Superman potentially stealing the spotlight, but no more so than the hoops they constantly have to jump through not to show him.
That said, I generally don't like the team-ups all that much. The Arrow/Flash ones were not great, the second one was outright terrible, and I don't much care for Legends either. Still, it would be pretty cool to see Superman and Supergirl on screen together.
As for the rest of the episode, it was pretty much business as usual. Lots of stupid stuff, but oddly enjoyable somehow, even if the music seemed a little over-the-top dramatic. It was like they never switched out of "previously on Supergirl"-mode.
