I think its just because its so not how I have ever seen Jimmy, Jimmy to me will always be like Justin Whalin in the Lois and Clark version of superman
My thoughts exactly. But I liked S1's Jimmy, too. Never quite sure why they recast him.

yeah liked him too, I think its because he's always been a boyish man rather than a man man whereas he is not in Supergirl (if that makes any sense)

Has there been any news if Jenna Dewan Tatum is returning as Lucy Lane yet?

YAY. Best news all day
I agree unfortunately she won't be in as many episodes as last season though as she won't be a series regular in Season 2 still it's great she'll be back hopefully she calls Kara by just Kara (and not Kira) this season as she did at the end of the finale.

Just don't care. As long as Flockhart is back!

Bleeding Cool: "Supergirl Merges With CW Earth One In Flashpoint? And Other DC TV Rumours"

Makes perfect sense, if true. It's what many people assumed would happen as soon as the network move was announced.

I just hope that Superman gets left behind...

I still don't get this merger business. How does one Earth merge with another? What happens if the same person exists on more than one Earth? Do they become a new (whole) person, does all but one end up dead? What?

Is it all the Earth's that tend to merge, or just selective ones (in this case, Ollie's & Barry's with Kara's?)

I just hope that Superman gets left behind...[/quote]Oh I doubt that'll happen. It should beg the question though of why Superman and Supergirl wont show up in Flash or Arrow when their respective cities (especially Arrow - that city is always close to exploding).

It almost seems as though they're just doing a soft reboot of the entire CW franchise. The characters of Oliver Queen, Kara, Joe West (etc etc etc) wont know any different; it'll only be Barry (and maybe Wally & Jay?) that'll notice the difference...

Aren't time ships protected against certain adjustments? Rip Hunter referenced men of steel in one episode, so presumably that was a reference to Superman? If he's from the future (which we know he is) has this already kind of ... happened for him?

Nice, the show has actually got someone that knows how to act, might be worth watching now!

Given the calibre of its stars, this is no surprise

Supergirl and The Flash crossing over for musical episodes

Dear god no, why does every show feel like they have to do this? Only three have not been a toe-curling cring-fest: Buffy, Xena and Supernatural and the latter thankfully did not have the main cast singing.

It's not a massive surprise considering the singing ability of half these casts though and it says they're not going to be bursting into song as such, more the songs will be background thoughts.

He teased that there will "probably be an element of the songs being in the characters' heads," rather than them being a main plot point.
As for why do it, why not when you have a cast of superb singers. Buffy worked because most of their cast weren't actually trained singers apart from Anthony Head.

Well I suppose that sounds a little better? But it's just such a done trope now that shows will throw in a musical episode that I kinda wish they just wouldn't.

If Arrow decides to try it, I'm done with that show, it's already on thin ice with me.

A musical episode at this point iseems like a terrible idea. Steady the ship, build a solid fan base, and then start playing around.

I was surprised to hear that they have apparently revealed what's in the pod.

Supernatural did a musical episode? The one with the school girls doing the musical? I was fine with that, loved the end number.

The Buffy musical episode also worked as Buffy was quite a quirky show already anyways. Not sure if it would work with Supergirl, depends on how they implement it I guess.

Absolutely note perfect. If this is truly representative of the entire episode? Then the only possible reaction is "wow".

If the rest of the season lives up to that promo it should be brilliant. Tyler has got Clark absolutely spot on. I wasn't sure about him getting the role but that's just quelled a lot of fears.

Very good, I'm looking forward to this.

I'm also looking forward to Lena Luthor (played by Katie McGrath) this season who was in the CW promo clip with more footage as well.

Do you think he'll get his own show?

I wouldn't think so. DC are never going to have a tv series (live action) for Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman, not now. You can bet they're somewhat reluctant to keep the Flash running but because of it's success, they've little choice.

Their three big names will undoubtedly remain in their cinematic picture for as long as that remains a success. They may appear in the series (such as Superman) but I doubt they'll have their own shows. I'm still hopeful we'll see Batman appear on Arrow, but ain't going to hold my breath.

We can only hope. If his performance (and character) lives up, it'll be the ONLY faithful version of Superman on TV or in the movies right now.

That other version isn't worth watching...

They definitely need to lighten Superman up. The MoS and BvS Superman is way too pious and depressing.

I hope this opens the door for Batman. I think it's a very good precedent. Change the TV ban to a limited use situation, and always insist on different actors and setups.

Of course it won't happen until AFTER a solo Affleck movie is out. Ever. They'd want to establish that first, and see if they can play up one of the few good things in BvS to plant that flag before they let another actor loose playing the same character elsewhere.

Highly unlikely I'd say given that DC seems to want to utterly separate it's big screen and little screen heroes and while the big three are appearing on the movie screen I can't see them allowing a TV version to dominate the conversation.
