This will be the 'real world' where Supergirl and a Martian exist?

Just thought.
If Alex is gay that would make The Flash the only show without a regular gay character I know the Police Cheif was gay but he was killed off and only appeared in a handful of episodes. |

They're not together yet, they've merely shown chemistry, it's a slow build.
Not that I mind it. It's a little forced, but if anything, it seems to be one of the few relationships on any of these shows that has a little bit of actual chemistry. But slow? Nope. |

Ross and Rachel was slow. Jim and Pam was slow. Even Kara and "James", which luckily went nowhere in the end, was slow-ish by CW standards. Considering that Alex was straight until a couple of weeks ago, and that they were obviously building something between her and Maxwell Lord last season, the speed with which she has suddenly discovered and acknowledged this side of herself would be enough to give anyone sexual whiplash.
Not that I mind it. It's a little forced, but if anything, it seems to be one of the few relationships on any of these shows that has a little bit of actual chemistry. But slow? Nope. She wasn't straight until a few weeks ago, her sexually was, for the audience, undefined. That;s how it can work in life as well though, yo can think you're straight for a long time until you find someone you are attracted to of the same sex and then you have to come to terms with who you are. |

I'm tired of all this sexuality discussion. It might not happen to any of you but it does happen where a person meets another person and BANG - fireworks.
Happened to one of my closest friends and she's happier now than she's ever been with a guy. So this is not like it's some incredible stretch of the imagination. They both have a hell of a lot in common and it's all making perfect sense to me. It's actually my favourite thing about the show this year.

The thing with her and Lord was only ever her way of getting close to him to see if he was really a bad guy, he had something for her but she wasn't into him.

Alex is very guarded, but the way Maggie carries herself so confidently and engages in flirty banter, draws her to her. I'm used to seeing the ultra-slow burn on tv, but sometimes if the chemistry clicks, it clicks.

Fireworks aren't slow, and this happened very quickly. Nobody is objecting to the idea of her sexuality, just the weird comment about it supposedly being slow. Even in real-time of 3 weeks it would have been quick, but keep in mind, the last few episodes have taken place over a few days.

Where have they said that? There's not been any indication of the time scale the episodes have taken place in that I can remember.

Superman was in town for just a few days over two episodes, Mon-El woke up and choked Kara, which continued straight into the next episode, etc. There were lots of examples like this last season too, where events picked up directly from the previous episode. Even the season 2 premiere was the day after the season finale, as Cat specifically said.
I don't think there's been anything outside of those and EP3 with Mon-El where it's supposed to have been within days. |

Yes, but that was the opening two episodes not the rest of them.

They usually say something or make it clear within the episodes, like they did with the Superman stay and with the opening episode.
There's no need to point it out every episode, but in episode 4, after meeting M'gann the episode before, J'onn's conversation with her clearly shows that this is only their second meeting. I doubt he waited an entire week to go back, considering how pushy he was about it all, as Kara pointed out. At the end of episode 4, Kara says she's taking "custody" of Mon-El, and at the beginning of episode 5, it's his first day at Cat Co and seemingly in the real word. Clearly everything is moving along on a day-to-day time scale, just like most of the first season did.

Drunk Kara is quite possibly my new favourite thing.
![]() Surely there's going to be a lot of questions asked if Winn keeps ducking out of work for his side gig with James. Speaking of which, I can go with the lead-based suit, but you can still see his eyes. Plus it's going to look suspicious if James keeps turning up to work battered and bruised... I guess we're not supposed to probe so deeply. ![]() Oh Alex. It made sense though, love isn't easy and it was as much Maggie protecting herself as it was protecting Alex. Maggie's still on the rebound and also probably doesn't want to feel like Alex is projecting onto her because she's the only other out woman she knows, with it all being so fresh. That was also the first time Maggie called her Alex instead of Danvers.Seems trouble found Mon-El... at least that will keep Alex busy. Edit:

Yep, you want to make your combat gear as heavy as possible. ![]() Quote:

Does the Cadmus lady seem weirdly hands-on with all their nefarious activities? It's a little disappointing to see Supergirl slipping into the now typical Berlanti-verse mode, where heroes just casually kill the villains without a second thought. In fact, it looked like Supergirl was about to punch Dr. Rudy's head clean off his shoulders in the lab, before she even knew if he had any real powers. Other than that, I think they went too 1-dimensional and villain-of-the-week with Parasite. They need to do a much better job when they introduce characters like this. The strongest part of the episode was Alex. I don't think these sort of plot lines is where the show is going to find new viewers, but although it has moved very fast so far, in terms of how Chyler Leigh played it this episode, it was one of the most authentic and believable things the show has ever done. |

Nah, it's the DEO, where people come and go as they please, regularly show up drunk or hungover, or don't show up at all. For a supposed government/military organization, it's shockingly unprofessional.

There's a lot of drinking on the job now they've got their new dive bar hang-out and how often they get called back into work. ![]() I guess she takes the 'if you want something doing right, do it yourself', approach. |

The lesbian storyline just seems so forced.
There is no chemistry between them, and Maggie's rejection of Alex was just a tease. If I was Alex I would have told her, I fancied her for her, not because she is a woman or because I was a lesbian, and that she had no right to say it was just a 'first time being lesbian' thing. Which was very dismissive. What is Alex supposed to do? Go out with other women for a while just so she could earn her 'Lesbian badge' and Maggie will want her more? rolleyes |

Pretty sure it'll have unique properties in that it'll have been infused with something, so it's more an element of led, not pure led. ![]() I'm would say they only need a micrometer or so layer to stop her. |

Captain Singh only got killed off in alternative timeline Flash, in the current one he's been in it this Season.
