Loved the second episode! Great to see her learning and growing as time passes.
With Hank's red eyes, I'm guessing he could be Martian Manhunter? That would be a pretty awesome reveal if he is. Looking forward to learning the truth behind it. |

"In the comics, Henshaw is also known as the Cyborg Superman, a NASA astronaut whose machine half has given him powers near the level of Superman. And, because he blames the Man of Steel for his inhuman state, Henshaw tends to have a vendetta against Kryptonians."
However the producers are teasing they're aren't going to follow that strictly. Source- http://www.comicbookresources.com/ar...terious-future I thought it was a strong second episode, some good character development with the same level of tongue in cheek less serious element we see on The Flash as opposed to the seriousness of Arrow. Her breaking the ship's hull was a classic although why she didn't push the bloody thing instead of pulling it did make me chuckle. Was it just me or did there seem to be a million ad breaks though? |

That would be a better angle to take than the obvious Cyborg one for me and we all know how they twisted Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne over on The Flash so hopefully they'll be doing something similar with Henshaw's character here.

I can't quite make my mind up. Do i Like it or do I not? I find myself enjoying it one minute then you get smacked in the face with the "Woman" stick. Like the army dudes line of "its not because youre a woman" or the boss lady exclaiming "we have to work twice as hard..."
I feel like I've been hit with that alot today. Went to see Bond earlier and an ad at the cinema was about broadband speeds but it was a girl watching pankhurst and female olympians on youtube and being inspired and stuff like that. Then I come home and see an article about new passports being sexist because of a lack of females on it. I'm all feministed out lol So much so I'm making up words. Anyway, they finally figured out his name was Superman and the Man of Steel. That was nice. Just wish they'd shut up now and get on with Caras story and stop talking about him. Don't make it a looming shadow. Kinda ironic though with all the feminism talk and such that they are so stuck up on Superman. Nice touch though making her wreckless to begin with and not coming in being a saviour. Also I feel like the aunt would have made a good season baddie. Have her be behind the issues all season to reveal later on "It was me all along Cara" and throw her for six. Then the big fight at the end with her family. Facing off against a fellow kryptonian in an episode where she's learning the ropes is a bit counter productive. Especially as the aunt looked a lot more settled in her powers. |

I don't know about number of breaks, but there would have had to be slightly less ads than usual for a US network drama. The episode was over 44 minutes minus ads.

![]() But this is a minor quibble as I'm most impressed with the series as a whole so far - especially the flying

Really enjoying this. I generally like most Super hero shows though.
Only annoyance is the constant mentions of 'My cousin/him in blue/superman' Can we please let Supergirl be herself for at least a few episodes before Superman is rammed down our throats. |

Spoiler
I also get that this is a fictional show (so take it with a grain of salt), but why, when you have superheroes with the power of these kryptionians are they limited to protecting specific cities? If there's some global threat to the planet, shouldn't more of them get involved (justice league?) - instead we're suppose to believe that super girl alone will save the world - it's like superman is taking a backseat to see if she can handle it (though in doing so, risking the lives of others if she fails). I also wonder whether we'll ever actually see superman; in the sense of a dynamic with him. Surely he's got to turn up at some point to help out, though he's such a big name I ponder whether they'll ever get the rights. Still a much different feel to Arrow and Flash, not sure why that is, especially as some of the same people are behind it. |

The characters of Supergirl and Superman are both owned by DC, which is owned by Warner, which also owns the production company that makes the Supergirl TV series and the DC films. |

The fingerprints things could be applied to all superheroes who don't wear gloves.

Do Kryptonions even have fingerprints?

Why wouldn't they ?
They have all of the other human body parts. Quote:
May not have fingerprints though they do look human but are not.
Unless she's been arrested, or been a member of the military or law enforcement or certain federal agencies, there'd be no record. The US doesn't have a national fingerprint database of every citizen. |

Supergirl is on CBS rather than the smallish network The CW, so it has a much bigger budget.

I doubt that rights would be an issue.

I suspect the big names are being kept back for the DCCU. The exception is probably Flash, but they probably green-lit the show before they decided to add Flash into the DCCU. |

What they don't have is a clear strategy for using a TV version of Superman apart from the one who looks like Henry Cavill. Aside from any expense, its clearly a different "universe" from that one, and the people on both sides don't want what you might call "brand confusion". |

Because fans/pundits never let them win/off the hook. If they don't mention him (or try to ignore him) I could guarantee you they'd have been shellacked too with that accusation/charge. In fact, I can already see people saying they hate hearing "Superman" all of the time, when just last week a slightly different group of people were screaming about NOT hearing "Superman".

Although, more seriously, I don't think DC ever has explained why each super is restricted to a specific city for their daring deeds and only come together for Justice League adventures. At least with Marvel they have that "global" element to their storytelling. |

Emma Caulfield (Anya from Buffy) is playing Cameron Chase- quite a dour Batman character- in Supergirl. http://www.comicbookresources.com/ar...-cameron-chase

The problem here for me is the same with Gotham: Batman and Superman are 'ghosts' in the background. Superman and his cousin would meet or call each other as he has been all alone. Plus they would share incidents. As time goes on this will become more obvious. The connection is Jimmy Olsen so there is no getting away with it.

If they never mentioned she was a girl and explored how that could make things a bit diffrent people would just say "Why not just make SuperBoy (Connor Kent verson) or we just had Smallville no need to do it again. And if they metion it they do mention it they are pushing a "feminst" agenda and why do they have to mention it. |
