Well, I'm glad Lena came through, though unsure why she couldn't (or didn't) tell Kara, and how neither John or Kara figured out that she'd saved them!? Did think they cured John rather conveniently too. Surely they could have strung that out a little bit? I wonder whether they'll use this new formula to transform Megan into a Green Martian (at her request?) rather than a White one? Everything else in the episode played out okay. Can't really knock it, except maybe for Cyborg Superman who is still a little bit of a let down. Shouldn't he look like Clark anyway? Quote:
Good episode, but can't help but feel incredibly let down by how non-crossovery that was.
I knew they were going to do this. There was too much to wrap up on Supergirl before the break that it was never going to be the actual start of a crossover. I mentioned it on a Facebook post, but the whole four-part crossover sales pitch was lame, and the planning for this lazy. The writers aren't stupid (or are they?); they knew exactly what fans of the show wanted, and they failed to deliver. I hope Flash, Arrow and Legends make up for this. Three hours worth of crossover has turned in to 2hr 15mins. Quote:
I bet very little will happen crossover wise until Legends of Tomorrow.

I sat through two seasons of Fear the Walking Dead hoping it would eventually get good (it never did
), I'm probably due some form of compensation.Quote:
I enjoyed the episode shame Cisco and Barry didn't appear until the last minute.

So did Mon-El forget about his kiss with Kara or is he lying that he doesn't know?
Quote:
I wonder if Supergirl or the DEO already know about The Dominators as they very well may exist in their universe to.
I saw a behind the scenes clip and apparently Supergirl's Earth is Earth 38. Quote:
That said if they could change it why not have it kill Kryptonions as well.
It should have been better explained, of course, but this is Supergirl. ![]() Quote:
Apparently another Supergirl Flash Crossover will happen in the 2nd half of both series.

That's going to seriously suck if Flash & Arrow are all about the team building. I suppose on the plus we get all the character meets and greets, some of them ought to be bloody fantastic.

Flash is worth watching, looking forward to seeing Arrow now tonight
![]() I don't think Arrow will be either. I suspect it'll all come full circle, and the budget will have ended up in Legends. One of the THREE crossover episodes ought to get something right.

What i meant was, I don't generally watch it (or ever i don't think), but as i watch anything Superman/Supergirl, and she was going to be in it, i made an effort to watch it, and for that reason, it was enjoyable for me (as i don't know what else goes on in the shows).

Now that you've go a taste, are you likely to continue watching any of the other shows?

Melissa Benoist pretty much carries this show. I was dubious at her casting as she didn't fit my mental image of what Supergirl should be, but over time, she won me over.

Or he knows but thinks she kissed him out of sympathy and doesnt really like him because she has an issue with where he is from Im guessing we will get more of his back story now, and hopefully he is the Prince as I dont like the other possible options, I would rather he was a nice guy than some of the options, like he killed someone to escape etc |

So, the start of the 4 night "crossover"... WOW. Just WOW.
Good episode, but can't help but feel incredibly let down by how non-crossovery that was. ![]() Irrespective of all that, it was a cracking good episode and I'm really glad they had Lena actually be good and not be an obvious villain. The second crossover episode is going to be a musical one so with the talents on offer, it should be hilarious but with good singing. |

They said from the very beginning that Supergirl's world would be the least affected by the crossover and that it would be the episode to kick it all off, they never said (cleverly as it turned out) that Supergirl's episode would be about the invasion. And the fact it's the only show where the episode wasn't called Invasion was a bit of a giveaway
![]() I know you Google extensively, but I don't. I *am* a FB watcher of Supergirl and I didn't read anywhere that it was going to be starting primarily with the Flash and every single advert made no reference to it. In fact I went back through the page at no point did any of them make any mention of anything beyond a "movie-like spectacle". It never said anywhere that it was primarily starting with the Flash. Ultimately, didn't get any of that. So expectations were NOT met... Barely got a Batman v Superman knock-off... I should know better than to have any expectations to be fair. |

He he he he. Who is "they"? This is my issue - I have zero idea who "these" people are and, I expect, 99% of the population are in the same boat. Most of us don't know anything about the shows we watch beyond the most basic info (when's the next episode, etc), so I know I was entirely clueless about the four night "crossover".

and And AND AAAAAAAAAAND... How the hell are you supposed to know what the episodes are called when they're not actually IN the show? :P
But then again, if you weren't aware of the hyping, as such, then you wouldn't have had expectations in order to be disappointed by them (generic yous not you specifically). I can understand people feeling the Supergirl episode didn't have much to do with the alien invasion but as I never expected it to, I found the whole episode was very good in the main. |

Yes, this is because you don't follow the fan sites or read the online spoiler stuff so the "they" is the show's creative team who said Supergirl would kick off the crossover episode.

I had super high expectations! It was written all over every fan site and preview going. Even DS covered it with near slavish enthusiasm. It was really hard not to expect big things - hyperbole was the in-word!
![]() I loved the Supergirl episode, but on the whole, the whole thing was just a big wet disappointment. ![]() You can't have it both ways, either you read the spoilers and know what's coming and, therefore, make a more realistic expectation of what will happen, or you don't and avoid any knowledge and have, therefore, no expectations. You = generic you throughout. |
