This show alludes too much to its more famous cousin. The Supergirl character needs to develop in her own right and not keep on making references to the Man of Steel.

The worst part of episode 3 was when Kara was just about to be killed and out of nowhere Superman flies in and saves her from the antagonist villain. WTF!

Yes then they go on about how she's done something he hasn't, e.g. defeat him.

She wouldn't have been able to defeat him if Superman hadn't saved her. rolleyes

They need to cut the 'Superman' and 'Sexism' stuff and just get on with the show.

Blah blah blah...this is my story.

Woe is me.

Twee office stuff.

Hokey villain...I can't do it..I can't do it

CGI Superman...doesn't talk to Kara...saves her.

Twee office stuff....romantic undertones.

Crappy showdown..partially holding a nuclear pile in a lead glove stops it exploding shocker.

Twee office stuff.

Cousin typing twee crap to cousin.

Twee romantic love triangle.

End titles.

It's all paint by numbers characters".
This. With all this writing talent in the world, I still find it incredible that we get the same dreary characters and insipid plots...

It's just not good enough.

I won't deny, I'm starting to think there are major cracks in Supergirl's armour.

Wow, this week's episode wasn't terrible.

- Kat Grant revealing herself to have a little more depth.
- Girl power used satirically rather than to preach to the audience.
- Good special FX and Supergirl showing some competence.
- Kara not going on and on about "my cousin! My cousin! My cousin!"

Maybe if it had been like this from the start the ratings wouldn't have taken such a huge nose dive.

Last night's episode was not the scheduled episode due to be broadcast.
Due to the events in Paris on Friday, CBS decided to shelve the original episode about....you've guessed it....terrorists.

The supergirl bits aren't bad.

Kat Grant is improving.

The Kara family stuff makes me want to puke.

Self righteous know it all Jimmy, I could happily see dead.

Preferably at the same time as love sick dork Winn.

40% okay 60% drivel.

But it is getting slightly better.

Oh so it was Thanksgiving episode early.

I wondered why it was numbered 105.

Episode 4 was pretty good. Much improved.

This could still be a great show; it just needs more interesting characters.

Wonder if ep 4 will be on next week or left out altogether.

Even next week it will look odd as it won't have mention of them trying to find out what happened to their Dad.

They should be showing the pulled episode next week instead, which is when I will wait to watch last nights one as I would rather watch them in the correct order/

They've said they're switching the episodes around so we'll get EP4 next week which is about bombs and explosions in National City or something similar.

I thought it was a good episode, nice villain of the week, interesting twist back into the DEO, more depth given to Cat to stop her being such a one dimensional character.
I also like how they're keeping things shady about Hank Henshaw without going all out into him definitely being a villain and the reveal that the DEO's been around quite some time.

I like Winn, I like Jimmy, I can't be doing with the bloody love triangle angst though, sorry. Also liked the name check of Winn's dad (without them actually mentioning his name).

They announced today that Blake Jenner- Melissa Benoist's husband- is joining the cast. Love square!

So we're going to get to watch a loved up couple act like a loved up couple? God, what are they thinking? People are already sick of this love triangle, now they're throwing another (real) guy into the works? What is that saying about keeping your personal life at home and work life at work?

Interesting. I'd far rather see a "proper" on screen romance between two characters that makes sense instead of what feels like a bit of a shoehorned "love triangle" just so they're giving a connection to Jimmy, Winn and Kara. I'd much prefer it if she was just friends with Jimmy/Winn (although Winn can have his unrequited love angle that doesn't bother me so much) and Kara has a proper relationship.
If Jimmy went off with Ms Lane it doesn't really seem like he's got much in the way of real feelings for Kara and the show is forcing it instead of letting something develop organically.

Can't stand Jenner he was smarmy on 'The Glee Project' and was one of the reasons Season 4 of Glee was so bad.

He is riding on Mellisa's coat tails as he hasn't got any of his own talent.

So where does Supergirl keep her normal clothes when she is dressed as Supergirl?

The makers seem to have changed their minds and a Flash crossover may happen this year.

Episode 5 .. .Which was 4 really.

Melissa is a decent actress.

Jimmy and Winn still annoying.

Don't buy why Kara would care so much about her alias "OMG I am going to get sacked".. and that's a problem because ?

Similarly Maxwell Lord wants to find out who she is ? So what. After the tired old excuse about not putting friends in danger etc. It's a moot point when Supergirl cares about everybody.

However , when Supergirl is in action things are pretty good. I like that she's not over powered like her cousin.

Apart from the b storyline with Jimmy and Lucy Lane and the DOE/Dr Danvers/Hank reveal they didn't lose too much from having to switch the episodes around.
I thought it would be a lot more jarring in terms of the continuity but it wasn't hugely obvious.
The storyline was an interesting one as well given that it all centred around just what Maxwell Lord is up to and how far he's willing to go to find out who Supergirl is but not why he's so desperate to find out.

Some good action scenes, Melissa delivers as always and I'm even more intrigued now to see where they're going with David Harewood's character.

If (and that's a big if) they're going to do that, it's only because the show isn't doing as well as they'd hoped. I'm kind of hoping it wont happen to be honest; they're two completely different shows.

Does also make one wonder why Rip Hunter wouldn't choose Superman to travel though time with him.

Struggling with this one.

It's the show I was most looking forward to this year. The Flash was the show I was waiting for last year and it's become one of my favourites and generally I'll watch any 'Super hero' type show. But this for me is all a bit blah.

It's more like a soap than a Super hero show. Five episodes in and I'm already bored of the love triangle because it's had too much screen time.

Kara herself is okay but she has non of the confidence you'd expect Supergirl to have and she seems a bit dim.

These abilities aren't new to her so you would expect her to at least have confidence in her own abilities. Yes perhaps she's not confident about being in the public eye yet but she doesn't even seem to have confidence in her own abilities. She comes across quite clumsy.

This weeks villain was a bloke with a bomb. Surely for a kryptonion that's just child's play. Or are they deliberately writing her so she looks dim? Her boss had to tell her to change direction with the bomb, at which point she asks 'which way'. It was cringe worthy. She's Supergirl ffs.

Is Kat Grant in the comics? If so is she this annoying?

I also don't understand why Kara's secret identity (which isn't so secret) has to be identical to Clarks. She works in a news paper as a clumsy mild mannered young woman nobody looks at twice at. Is that the same in the comics too? Must have been a lazy day for the creators.

I'd actually even forgot her boss ad the dod had the red flashing eyes thing going on until he did it this week.

I really want to love this show but I'm actually finding it all a bit meh.

I'm hoping they get over ramming the 'girl' bit from 'Supergirl' down everyone's throat. And just start to let her actually become a hero. Not a hired hand of the dod only knowing how to help out because the bloke in her ear is giving her instructions. And even then messing up because she's just a girl and far too simple to do all these complicated man things.

Can they not just let Supergirl be, well super?
