No-one else watched Sunday's episode yet?
I thought it was another good one with more insight into what makes people tick although I did think the ending scene was a bit off as I don't believe for a minute that Alex wouldn't have checked for bugs etc after a reccie with Max Lord.
I know they have to move things on but that just seemed too "by the script" for me instead of him organically finding out.
But, back to the opening, cool escape from prison for the Toyman, lots of creepyness and more emphasis on nature versus nurture and whether we can change our fate etc given our genetics/background and the like.
Henry Czerny was brilliant as Toyman, just the right level of unhinged madness without being over the top. Also great to see an old Buffy alumni in Emma Caulfield as FBI Agent Chase.
I like that they are using Hank's alter ego more and it's not just been hidden away, also liked the conversations between Kara and Winn about how they dealt with things when their world's ended.
Personally I think I prefer him to James on the love interest front as they work much better as friends and I don't get any chemistry between the other two, not that there's much with Winn but it feels like a more natural progression from friendship.
Not feeling Lucy Lane as a character at all really, seems she's just been shoe horned in to try and bring a bit of conflict to the potential Kara/James relationship but I don't feel that much either so the whole thing just becomes a bit ploddy for me when they're involved.
Missed Cat's interactions with Kara in her unofficial role as advisor and unintentional oracle but she had some great one liners again and she's one of the real gems for me in this programme.
And, jumping back a bit to Hank's having to use his Martian powers and clearly doing it with a vast amount of regret. I liked the subtle way they commented on why people "don't mind" Supergirl and Superman (Max Lord excepted) even though they're aliens - because they look human. An entirely different scenario for if they saw J’onn J’onzz in his native glory.
Overall I'm giving it an 8 our of 10 for some stellar performances from Melissa and Jeremy in their heart to hearts.
ETA: Also loved the sneaky comic book Easter eggs in the two different toys which the Toyman passed on to Winn which mirrored his look in the JLU and then the later stories.
