Category is called the "Overs". What are they "Over"?

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I don't think ONCE this series have they referred to the Overs as anything other than just that - the "Overs"? In previous series they've been called the Over 25s, the 25 and Overs, the Over 28s, etc.

This year they just haven't pinned an age to them at all?

They're called "overs" because there's 3 stumps, 1 crease and 2 no balls.

Usually it's Over 25, although it occasionally gets edited to Over 28s or something similar. Why not just extend the age range to 30 and get rid of the category altogether?

They probably didn't want to pin a figure on it so they could change who was in the category at any given time.

Relevance.

In all seriousness I guess that originally there was some idea of having this category for people who missed their chance or whatever when they were young. Realistically though, that was the case for a reason when they reach a certain age. It's fine when you get acts like Fleur (Maybe Ben?) who're still young enough to be marketable but for the most part I think they're just there for the whole being relatable to viewers aspect or whatever horsecrap.
