What a strange argument. If Anton can demonstrate his latin talent with one partner only, then he's not good at latin.

Unless the pro is being kind? Oddly I have read people on here criticise Kevin Clifton for out dancing his celebs, so it seems some pros can't win.
If I remember correctly, Anton detests Latin and hates having to do it .

I can't believe that Anton thought it was a 'surprise' that Katie took him to a Salsa club in the week they did that dance. Has he never watched the show before ?
to be fair I never rated Erin's latin either (colins rumba was Matt Cutler) Tony started dancing relatively late so never really did latin unlike many of the others who competed in both until they decided to specialise, some like vincent and Flav go for 10 dances but vast majority specialise. Anton's latin really is poor and achievement wise he never did that much in ballroom either

Next year at the start if Strictly I think someone who has the time to do it correctly should start a little competition of what week and time when the Anton bashers start their usual 'Anton can't do Latin' moan and groan. Every year we have the same posters(mainly) saying the same thing over and over. But bless the man he is still there doing his bit for Strictly to keep it in the ratings.
Some people seem to take great pleasure in knocking him and saying how bad he is at dancing and giving the impression they know him from the old days of competition. It is nice to know they still follow his career, but could some of these posters be knocking Anton because he has made it onto our TVs and sadly they never quite got that far.
Why is it we live in a society where we easily put people on a pedestal and then take great pleasure in knocking them off again.

I remember Erin getting Matt Cutler in to demonstrate to Colin what to do, but I don't remember that he choreographed the routine. However, it's a long time ago.

Most casual viewers can see the man cant dance latin and hopefully this will be his last year on the show - to use your logic because Matt, Nicole, Karen H, Ian, Darren (who I also know) made it to tv I don't like them too? not the case all great dancers and nice people and great professionals

Yes, Anton himself said on the ITT following their Jive that he could see Katie was going to be throwing herself into the routine, and that he could therefore "give it some wellie".

Trouble is, the BBC SCD pages seem to be stuffed full of the Anton luvvies, which reinforces the opinion Anton is a necessary part of the show.
I know this may sound ridiculous but I honestly think that Anton's costume made his Salsa look much worse than it actually was.
That awful beige suit and Hawaiian shirt.
His suit jacket was buttoned up which looked too formal for a Salsa. The jacket looked too small and the buttons were pulling as he danced and made the whole thing look strained and untidy.
He should have been wearing an all-in-one which would have enhanced the movements and made the dance look a lot more fluid.

Interesting, so Anton's fans are 'luvvies' are we?
The BBC site is, I suspect, more likely to be representative of the viewing public than DS. If the BBC site is stuffed full of Anton fans then maybe, just maybe, he's rather popular.
Actually, I think the spread of opinion over there is fairly evenly spread, but we all know that most people still don't comment on sites on the internet - none of my friends use message boards etc and they all like Anton.
The people that I know want an entertainment show and just want to watch enjoyable dances and people enjoying them. Anton (and others) provide that.
