Nobody Interesting...Awful Lineup!
Master Ozzy
26-10-2015
Anyone else think it's a pretty awful final lineup? Nobody interesting whatsoever. Simon's overs are terrible...Bupsi doesn't have a strong enough voice, the guy with the guitar is dull and uninteresting and Anton while a nice guy has horrendous performance skills. Ebru was actually interesting and had a nice tone to her voice, and Kerri-anne was a proper singer/vocalist yet Simon just deemed her an outdated instead of actually thinking to himself that he could solve the outdated problem by just giving her something current to sing. Even Jennifer who I think is way, way overrated should have been in his final three over the ones he picked.

The groups are horrendous. The two boys...the novelty act. Then there's Alien Uncovered who are just cringe worthy and come across as so desperate...they've completely over styled themselves. During their VT a few weeks ago they did the whole "I'm the baby of the group, she's the loud one, she's the quiet one" etc. Plus they don't even sound that good. Then there's 4th Impact who in my opinion I don't understand how anyone can take seriously...I find them hilarious, they're like a bloody cabaret act and there's no diction when they sing.

The girls...I think Rita seriously messed up here. Louisa is not my cup of tea, but again, great voice and I can understand why Rita picked her. Lauren is just all over the place...decent voice but doesn't know how to use it all and her personality is all over the place...she got through to judges houses and after her performance she came out with "thank god that's done" in front of the judge, and before she even sang she walked on muttering the first line under her breath in order to make sure she remembered it. She's a complete and utter amateur. Then there's Keira who is not only just an average singer, but she also doesn't come across as very likeable. Once again, if you're a bit different then you only get so far on this show...Havva, Monica and Chloe were all far more interesting, exciting and had more potential.

The boys...Nick in my opinion has the best category. Problem is though, while Che and Sean have great voices, there's no identity there as artists. Sean looks the part, but he's too musical theatre. It's quite said that the best one (Mason) is just going to end up being used for a storyline and then dumped...he was hated at the start, then a few weeks into the live shows one of the judges will come out with "You know what Mason, you've really won me over", then the public will start to love him and then he'll be out a few weeks later...it's all so predictable. He was actually really good at judges houses and he has an identity as an artist. It's sad that the one with the most potential is going to be the one who they use. Apart from Mason though, there's nobody different, nobody unique, nobody exciting. Bring back series 5 when we had some genuine singers and vocalists and people who could walk onto the stage with confidence...people who actually had experience singing.

I agree with what you have said re groups and overs - kerrie Anne definitely should've been put through! However I don't agree about some points re Lauren - she can be taught control of her voice and anything she learns she will apply - it's all a learning curve, she is an amateur but I think that's what makes her a little bit endearing - she does have confidence issues I feel - she just needs a little help I think - her voice is pretty big.

I disagree the groups are strong. I like Alien. The boys were a strong group but failure to take Josh and or Simon through was silly move. However I like Mason and the guy with the ball. Neither will win though. The girls are strong apart from Kiera. Monica should have been in there. And the overs with Anton and Max strong.

So it's quite balanced.

BiB - if simon had been able to pick 5 of his 6 overs she still wouldn't have made the lives , she is even more cruise ship than 4th Rate or whatever they are called now

I think there is a good balance between entertainers and vocalists which will mean we will get varied live shows! I don't want to just sit and watch people singing ballads constantly, so I think the pace of the live shows will be good as there is a good selection of artists there who can perform with a great production behind them! This is X Factor after all it's not jus about the voice

I dunno I didn't rate her till judges houses I thought she was good there! She should've got through over Bupsi!'

I wish they'd just let the public pick the contestants! In fact just get rid of the judges. The focus they give them on the show is a joke.

thats not setting the bar very high

i meant more that of the three overs that didn't get through she was the least likely of the three to get picked, and tbh that performance she did at judges houses was really dated and karaoke-ish

simon was always going to put sinitta's grandma thru

Sinittas grandma lol hilarious!! I liked Jennifer Kerrie and Ebru, Simon wouldn't put strong overs through this year he wouldn't want to risk another overs win especially coz Ben and Fleur were finals from overs last year.

I think he wants a boy or girl to win.

said in another thread yesterday i dont think simon really cares who wins the show tbh

he put through the three acts that will create the most talking points and the most drama

max being the big shock that simon slagged off and then put through anyway

bupsi being this years joke act who will do almost anything for her 15 minutes of fame regardless of how cringeworthy it is

anton who has been quite mouthy and will be quite marmite imo as a person even tho he has a big voice

Going by the majority of the winners the public have chosen I wouldn't put money on them knowing talent or what sells

Yeah but..
The judges seem to mess it up at judges houses every year. Maybe that's the main flaw in the lives there on in..

Just so long as he can see the pound signs from them, who cares who wins.

I agree with all the bits in BIB

However one thing
I do seem to remember you frequently complaining about Monica up until now and what an obvious choice she was
Seems a bit odd you're complaining now she didn't get through?

I disagree. Most acts have something interesting and unique about them imo bar maybe Anton and Kiera. It's still a good lineup.

I'm not rooting for anyone at all for the first time since 2007. So yes, not a great lineup.....

I think what you've got is a bunch of good singers but nothing with real star quality, there's thousands of good singers in the UK performing in local pubs and clubs but few can rise above the mediocrity and the same applies with X Factor, being a good singer is not unique and it sometimes takes a bit more than that, not one act has anything special to appeal to the masses.

It's only fair that the worst finalists in the show's history match up with the worst panel in the show's history.

What do you mean the two boys in the groups are a novelty act? I am African and pleased to see Afro beats in the XFactor for once. There has been some big world wide Afro beat songs recently and you think Simon doesnt know?? People who sing Afro beats dont audition for the XFactor because they dont see that it is for them. Those boys are brave and I am glad the XFactor is giving this music a platform.

Will enough of the African community vote in these type of things they are going to need them.

I think they might do a bit better than people think

I think they have lost sight of the original premise ie the X factor.

Not one of those 12 have anything resembling an X!!
