Meaty issues..
We always hear the health scares about various foods and its the turn of processed meats.
Are we going to start seeing a lot of people turn vegetarians now!? Looking at the links below it seems this isn't the first time such a story has come out. Processed meats - such as bacon, sausages and ham - do cause cancer, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Its report said 50g of processed meat a day - less than two slices of bacon - increased the chance of developing colorectal cancer by 18%. Meanwhile, it said red meats were "probably carcinogenic" but there was limited evidence. But the WHO said meat did also have health benefits http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-34615621 |

There's probably a resentful vegan behind all this.

I always think if we avoided everything that could cause cancer etc we would all be very slim indeed, I am a veggie but I don't think this should be taken too seriously really my granddad had 3 slices of bacon, 2 sausages eggs and fried tomatoes with a thick slice of fried bread every day for his lunch for well over 70 years finally dying at 84 from a broken heart when my Grandmother died of lung cancer ( she had never smoked in her life). It seems to me to be luck more than anything what will get you in the end.

I don't eat red and processed meat. I always knew it was bad for you. It is delicious, but after you eat it it sits bad with your stomach. It's your body telling you that you shouldn't be eating it.

We were told for years that saturated fats caused heart disease and then lo and behold we find out they don't.
18% increase of bugger all is still bugger all. |

Well we are.
So don't sit around starting miserable threads - eat, drink and be merry!! 🍻🍷🍔🍟 😎 The research shows easting too much processed red meat might increase your chances of developing certain types of cancer from 5% to 6%. That is it. And yet the way this has been vastly exaggerated by the media is quite ridiculous. |
