Am I the only one that preferred the live Judges Houses

I much preferred finding out this way, live on TV. I can't stand all the one on one chats at the judges houses - "I can only take three through and my category is so strong...... I'm so sorry ........ you're stuck with me for a bit longer cos I'm taking you through to the live show" crap and then you get the tears when the contestants find they didn't make the grade.

At least this way everyone seemed composed - didn't notice any tears on stage and every one seemed genuinely pleased for the other members in their category.

They definitely strung it out and could have condensed the whole evening into one 2 hour show (IMO) but still preferred this way.

I preferred it too! I think they got it better on the Sunday as well.

I like the face there is no emotional hugs and chats plus I like that every singer got an equal amount of time spent on them. Normally 2 or 3 in each category only gets a montage style part.

Having it live meant the results were unknown before too. I can't help but read the spoilers normally

I like it too... so all the acts almost got same time to rehearse for the first live show.

I think the concept is fine, and its refreshing to see the judges not sat behind a desk.

The problem is that the format wasn't thought through properly.for instance:

10 second countdown - what's the point?
Asking other mentors for guidance and them not giving any, or making some glib comment like go with your gut instinct
Turning to the audience and them shouting out names like it's some dreadful 70s game show
Having the boys performances on Saturday, then a long recap on Sunday and then results (for two of them at the very least) that were laughably predictable
Making speeches to beg to stay in which is half drowned out by the audience
Allowing Rita Ora to take speed and wear stupid trousers
Reaction shots from the contestants as its being broadcast - it was a bit Beadles About-ish

Also the production values were shocking, everyone was in the wrong place, Olly and Caroline forced to drag contestants to the right positons and shouting at them to sit down.

It reminded me a lot of the Pop Idol shows where 2/10 contestants got through each week. In fact the whole thing had a very 2002 look.

This ^^

It felt like a game show, i was waiting on ' Higher, Lower, Come on down, is it a Hotspot not '

Talk about drag it out as well. Yes we know they do it for weekend evening entertainment, but it was too much. Its was cringey. It was better than watching the usual crying you not got through malarky but the format needs sorting out. It was embarrasing.
